Each day many children come up missing. Many are found abused and in some cases even found dead. Help bring out more awareness
Tiny whispers in the dark
As parents we need to be aware of anyone and anything that could possibly harm our children. We not only have molesters, but we also have molesters with what is called Sex Rings and there are three types. The first is called Solo Ring....which involves one adult perpetrator and multiple children. The next Ring is called the syndicated Ring....which involves multiple adults, multiple child victims and a wide range of child pornography and sexual activities. The Transition Ring is the third and includes child pornography between adults and money changing hands.
A study reported 11 child Sex Rings in the United States including 14 adult male perpetrators and 84 child victims ages 8-15.Sexual abuse of children, involves sexual activity between an adult and child, this much we know. How? This activity can involve nonviolent sexual abuse where the child is pressured or through acts of attention, affection and even bribery.
A random community survey indicated that about 70 percent of the victims are girls and 30 percent were boys. There is some believe that there are even more boys being sexually abused, but because of their masculinity their fear is greater so many hold their pain in and remain silent. The sexual abuse of children is not a rare event. Estimates of yearly rates of child sexual abuse cases range from 50,000 to over 1 million.
The abused child feels many things like, disorganized, aggressive, avoidant and even guilty or ashamed. They will need a lot of help and support in order to ever maintain a normal life. Who are these children that are being sexually abused? I have included a list below but that’s just touching the surface. David Finkelhor and Larry Baron identify this group through clinical evidence.
When a child lives without one of the biological parents
When the mother is unavailable to the child either as a result of employment outside of the home, disability, illness.
When the child reports that the parents marriage is unhappy.
When the child reports having a poor relationship with the parents or subject to extremely punitive discipline or child abuse.
When a child reports having a stepfather.
SYMPTOMS of CHILD ABUSE
fear of adults
school grades drop
Now that we have the facts we can hopefully keep our children safe and maybe even help other children by paying more attention or asking more questions. There is a lot of children in trouble out there who whispers in the dark for help.
