Just when you begin to doubt the values we hold in society along comes an event that restores faith.
In the last few weeks, Australia has experienced some of the worst flooding in its history. The loss of life and severe property damage experienced brought with it trauma to thousands.
Without any prompting, an army of Aussies appeared to assist in whatever way they could. Armed with buckets and mops they willingly helped anyone who needed it. Within days millions of dollars were raised to help with the flood relief.
It illustrates community is not dead and we should fight tooth and nail to maintan it whenever we can. Scratch the surface and one can always find good in people. I am no evangelist but sometimes we need to speak up about the good things we see rather than focus on the negative.
