Finding time for yourself isn't always easy. Not only can it be one of the most challenging tasks, it can also turn out to be a big flop if not properly planned in advanced. That's where a handy agenda comes in. With a basic regimen to follow, you'll enjoy a lot more free time doing whatever it is you desire without any regrets attached.
To increase the effectiveness of any regimen there are some moderate key steps to carry out.
1.Think ahead: Consider the reasons why you'd like to have this free time. Are you trying to lose that extra 10 pounds but haven't been able to schedule time to devote toward it? Maybe you've enjoyed yourself with a relative or friend that came to visit from out of town but now you need to enjoy being alone. Or getting away going off on vacation, is what you have in mind.
Knowing the reason why you've got to have this break is the first step in getting it done.
2.Choose your day: Once you have weeded through your thoughts and determined why you need this freedom your fighting for, you'll have to pick a day or maybe even a couple of days(depending on your need) that you'd prefer to concercrate for yourself.
3.Next you'd need to address the important things you have on the agenda. The most proficient method to get this done is by jotting it down on paper. This way works best because it causes you to think as you're putting your obligations in writing. Moreover, prioritizing responsibilities and what needs to be done should be fairly easy, especially as they come to mind.
4.Double Check: Read over your created list to make sure you've included everything.
5.Handle Your Business: Most people have about 2-3 hours of open time during the evenings of Monday through Thursday. If you can spare just one hour a day, it will be just as good. That one hour will turn into four hours a week, of which you can use for hobbies and other miscellaneous things of importance to you, thus freeing up your Friday and Saturday. Rather than talking on the phone, engaging in social networks, lieing in bed, and watching t.v. as time passes you by.
Use the one hour for this instead:
- going through and paying bills
- home projects, inside/outside house and seasonal cleaning etc
- arranging and setting up appointments
- grocery and retail shopping
6.Make It Happen: Put your time to good use. If you didn't do it the night before get up early and plan your day. Decide what will be for dinner just like you've decided what you will wear. Instead of going grocery shopping on Saturday go early Monday morning you should be able to find a pathmark or walmart open between the hours of 6 or 7 am. It's the perfect time to pick up your meats and produce, don't forget to rack up on the frozen vegetables too. In no time you'll be in and out of the store and back home again putting away the food you just bought.
If you don't already own one it's worth it to go out and buy a crock pot so that you can begin dinner before you leave for work. It's a huge time saver and the food comes out tender and savory.
Getting into home projects and such. Set aside 30-40 minutes for projects and that's it. If you have to, use a timer to help keep on track. Exercising is healthy and good for you. But it's even better to work out 25 minutes to 30 minutes 3 days a week rather than 40 minutes to one half hour one day a week. And after a long and tiring day of work it will rejuvenate you.
Running errands can be little to no trouble at all or it can be a hectic process all together. But they don't really have to be difficult so there is some hope. Usually these little things to do are mainly for paying bills, sending out mail, stopping by an atm or picking up small gift items, believe it or not most of these if not all of them can be taken care of early in the morning while you are shopping at your grocery store.
Most supermarkets offer you cash back, right there that knocks off going to the atm. What about the $1.50-$2.00 charge well you broke even when you consider the gas driving back and forth to the bank. If you shop at Walmart and Target, they have plenty of little items to choose from to buy as gifts.
Sending out mail can be done from the comfort of your home depending on the quantity. It only takes a quick minute. Walk to your mailbox and insert your mail and the postal worker delivering your mail for the day will take it with them to the post office for you. Now how convenient that would be, and to think it can all be done before leaving for work.
For the more challenging errands like sending off packages, the department of motor vehicles, town hall and all other government offices nip them in the bud by using their online services. Need stamps? Order them online and they will be delivered to your door. Sending out packages? Do it from online and they will pick it up for you, it's that simple.
If you are not in to paying bills online call up the company and pay using credit. Still no good? Try writing a check the week before to avoid the rush. Though chances are if you are rushing you've waited to the very last minute which is way too long. But you can however alleviate the stress, by making moves to take care of things on time in the future.
Moving forward consider how much you can accomplish in one day. You still have another 3 days ahead for the other pressing things. Like couponing, and home projects. I recommend cutting coupons on Sunday after you pick up the paper. Give home projects one full hour. Have children and friends pitch in to help. Do your best to get it all done in 1-2 days. First of all let me say house cleaning is a must. Your house should always be clean, so if you need to take an extra 2 hours then do that.
Now that, all of the work is squared away. You can get to the FUN!!
