A challenge to my writing brethren . . .
Okay, it’s not really a contest, but I figured that would get your attention after the "Epitaph" episode. Call me a troublemaker if you must, but I prefer to be called a rebel, or even better, a knight in shining armor.
Flat Stanley arrived in the mail today from my six-year-old cousin, Hailey, in Arkansas. Her class is reading "Flat Stanley" by Jeff Brown. Flat Stanley is a boy who can travel through the mail because he has been smashed flat by a bulletin board. Hailey and her teacher asked me to tell about Stanley’s adventures while he visited here in Lewisport, Kentucky.
After scanning Flat Stanley into my computer, he seems to have learned how to ride the Internet. Darned if I know how he does it. If he happens to surf onto your computer screen and into your neighborhood, please allow him to challenge your writing skills in writing a poem or very short story about what adventures you and Flat Stanley shared after he surfed into your town. I’ll include two or three in my response to my cousin Hailey when I mail Flat Stanley back to her. So tell us, what have you and Flat Stanley done lately?
