Our universe is subject to the Law of Cycles. Everything has a definite rhythm and peculiar frequency. The Moon's cycle is twenty-eight days. The Earth's orbital cycle is three hundred, sixty-five and one quarter days. There is order, rhythm and harmony in Nature. Night follows day and day follows night. The sun 'rises' in the east and 'sets' in the west. After a rainy season, comes dry season. After winter, comes summer.
Man is no exception to the Law of Cycles: man is born, grows up, raises offspring, grows old, and then passes on. A seed is planted, germinates, matures, bears fruits, withers and dies. Even corporate organizations and nation-states are subject to the Law of Cycles. Highly developed individuals know that for man, there are hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and even whole life cycles. Even though Man may not be fully aware of their impact, these invisible cyclic currents continually influence the outcome of his activities.
There are times most suitable for business matters and there are times most suitable for social affairs. There are times most suitable for travel and there are times most suitable for rest and relaxation. There are times most suitable for matters of the heart, and there are times most suitable for intellectual pursuits. There are times when malevolent forces hold sway and there are times when benevolent forces reign supreme. Indeed, for every purpose under the heaven there is a time.
True, you can plant maize at any time of the year and it will germinate, grow and yield fruit. However, the wise farmer knows that the maize plant has its own natural cycle, and therefore a most appropriate time for its planting, so as to yield an optimum harvest. This applies to other crops, and to most human activities.
When you understand and apply the Law of Cycles, you rise above the slavery and bondage of ‘fate’ as you begin to exert some measure of control on the 'what' and 'when' of your life. When you apply this knowledge of the Law of Cycles, you begin to live in harmony with the cosmic rhythm of nature, easily propelling yourself from one success to another.
To the undiscerning, you are always lucky, but you know better. You simply set sail with the wind at your back! For you have come to realise that "... the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong; neither yet bread to the wise nor yet riches to men of understanding; nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all." Ecclesiastes 9:11.
The trained mind knows that there are periods or times which are most suitable for certain activities. At such times, an inspiration, urge, intuition or impulse followed, will sail effortlessly to a desirable end. At other times, your impulse might be negative, and your insistence upon its pursuit may results in great difficulty or even disaster.
"There is a tide in the affairs of men which when taken at its peak leads on to great success, but missed, leads to failure." William Shakespeare.
It is your duty to discover your personal life cycle, so that you can work in harmony with the favourable periods to maximise your efforts, and avoid venturing out during the unfavourable periods since this will most likely result in difficulties, waste of effort and resources, or even total failure.
Working with the cycles in your favour is like swimming in the flow of the current. It is like setting sail with the wind at your back. A little effort takes you a long way, leading to success. On the other hand, when you ignore the Law of Cycles you live a life of chance in which you have little or no control over the outcome of your efforts. Thus you sometimes swim against the current or set sail against the wind, leading to difficulties, frustration and failure.
When you synchronize your life and activities with the rhythm of your natural cycle, you gain better control of your earthly destiny, because you know when to move fast and when to slow down, as you follow the green light while stopping for the red to clear. When you master your cycles, you become fully aware in advance, of the times of opportunities and the times of obstacles, and are therefore prepared to meet them even before they become obvious to others.
"A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on and are punished." Proverbs 22:3.
To those 'asleep', Man seemingly has no control over the realities and inequalities of destiny. Yes, Man may not have control over some circumstances of life, but by seeking and knowing the mysteries of life, Man learns to leverage upon such seemingly adverse situations to uplift himself to greater heights. By working in rhythm with your natural life cycle, you conquer Nature, not by resisting her Forces but by obedience to her Laws.
You should therefore seek to know, not only the general Law of Cycles, but your own favourable and unfavourable periods, and use this wisdom to achieve great results in your key undertakings: your business activities, your social activities, your spiritual activities, your marital affairs, your relationships, and so on. Surely, to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
