Endless factors,, faiths, and fanatics make up a world of humans who will go to war to prove their cause. The U. S. cannot save the world from itself, but it must help preserve the peace and humanity.

War and It's Probability
Another incident has occurred, reminding me that I am senior in age to most members of AD, whose work I follow, and who flatters me about my poetry. With this in mind, I present my take on being present at a military funeral and burial recently. The deceased was, indeed, a casualty of the "war" in Iraq or Afghanistan.
My son served a brief term in the military, but has not had to return for duty in the current conflict. I am an Air Force veteran, non-combat. We believe in the United States having a military force, because there are aggressors who want the US to sink. Please note that no foreign force has attacked the US since our Army went into Iraq. We can't afford to back down!
Many, today, are too young to remember studying about World War II, but it began with a guy named, Hitler, and another named, Tojo. They planned to share the world. The United States stopped them, losing thousands of lives and injuries. What you enjoy today, we owe to them.

They Are Us
For my generation one event turns us sick
Makes each of us rigid with horror as we
Remember imprisonment and starving
Of Jewish citizens in the expanded New
Reich of Adolph Hitler and henchmen
We knew then that they were us
On another side of the world the horror
Of atomic energy melted down two
Cities of Japan snuffing out thousands
Of lives as US bombs end the carnage
Stopping a war to save millions of lives
We knew then that they were us
German and Japanese leaders began
World War Two for expansion conquest
The United States and Allied nations
Prove the absolute need to police world peace
Making sure that it never happens again
We know today that they are us
