Have a Meaningful Memorial Day!

A Gasless Holiday

Monday is Memorial Day, again.
So What, you say.
So, stay the Hell home and save gas.
That wasn't the intent for Memorial Day,
but if the young who don't know better,
insist on trashing the lives of men and women
who served in our wars, nothing will be lost.

None of us get old enough to second guess
our National Government and its leaders.
Yes, war is brutal. It kills. It changes history.
Yes, some are fought for vague reasons, but
the young who served didn't have a thing to
do with it all. They either needed a job, or
were drafted and required to serve over
the years of our wars.

You live and work the way you do because
other young persons put their lives on
the line to stop killers like Hitler and Tojo
who wanted to control and share the world.
The history you didn't read, and don't believe,
is what I'm talking about. It's truth!

At least, know that when they died or
were injured, it was the honorable thing to
do as a youthful U.S. citizen. Honestly!

Indeed, well said. They went to war to defend our country. They fought and gave their lives for their brothers beside them. If they be not heros, then who? Honor them!
