Good News - It's Not About You!

How did we start believing that it is all about us?
That's an easy one; the malady is known as ego.
And, there is no pill or sot for curing it. There is,
however, with little time and cost, a way to cure it.

Let's begin with thinking that others just might be
as smart and cleaver as we believe about us.
That is true , and they too, have active egos yearning
to be stroked by a person much like you and me.
Mutual compliments and praise is balm for most ills
of our personalities, and this is remarkably true in
writing and performances.

Successful persons know ho good is the return on
friendships built around common interests in the
arts and many other pursuits and occupations.
Yes, at work we have an extraordinary opportunity
to learn how valuable it is to show genuine concern
for the success of fellow workers

The real shocker comes when we realize that envy
and resentment costs us so much in lost friends and
promotions. It's true ; happiness that lasts comes
from being kind and helpful to those who need it
and who do not ask for it. Shyness is often thought
to be snooty, but the opposite is too often true in
human relationships.

Would it help if I convinced you that it is absolutely
never about me? I reached that stage a few decades
ago, and it changed my life so dramatically, you
wouldn't believe it. For now, take my word for it;
Good Friend, it just ain't about you.... nor about me!
