(Today was a national Day of Prayer in America. A small group of Christians in Jena, Louisiana gathered to pray for our community and our nation.)

We are the light of this world. We can't afford to let the light dim. The Christian community in Jena, Louisiana has determined to become a shining city on a hill which can't be hidden. We've experienced much in the last couple of years, but God is preparing us for use as vessels in the Kingdom of God. We believe that we are going to be used by God as an example of just what believers can do to make a difference in America. Our reputation, falsely branded, has been one of racism. The "Jena Six" controversy painted our town as America's poster child for racism. There's something happening here in our community that is proving that judgment wrong. Revival swept our parish. Local ministers and local congregants are seeking God to bring us to a place of reconciliation. Today, several of us gathered together to join hands and pray together for God to heal our community and our country.
