I have a registered company, just up and running, well, walking at the moment! Great News! My company called, Donni-Jay De-Ville Publishing & Entertainment, is now on it's way!! Many influential people have come in with us and we are negotiating printers deals, so that we can get Authors published, by print and demand, (which keeps the costs down for us, at present anyway!) We are going to be very selective, as we want to make sure that the books we choose to move into the public zone, are going to be marketable. This all involves us having faith in the Author to be able to sell themselves, with their own personalities, when it comes to publicity, book signings and so on. We want our company to have a good name, insomuch as, we are very discerning and will give the public something different, than just the old, 'run of the road' type of book. We also want to choose entertaining Authors, writers, whose talents are not being used to the utmost, due to the lethargic attitude of the publishers they already have or are trying to deal with. Marketing should be as important as Publishing, otherwise what is the point of it all? So many writers are left discouraged and it is criminal for real creative talent, not to mention, the uniqueness of a writer, from being shared with multitudes of hungry readers. I don't mean to be patronizing, but there is so much rubbish out there on the shelves, whilst, the Authors/Writers who would really be worth selling, do not get a look in. I/we intend changing this around. Big challenge? Yes, it should be, but those publishers do not know just WHO we have on our side, working within the company! All discussions have worked around the fact that I am so marketable myself and, being so, can publicize the company, each time I have an appearance on a talk show. Yes, that is the way it is going now. Through my musical abilities and minor celebrity status in the UK, I have been asked to make appearances, just because I am who I am. A personality who has different things to say than the norm. (Talking here about the bimbos who look good and then are so boring as soon as they start talking) I also entertain, can sing duets with the TV hosts, or just perform my original songs alone or, with my own band. Luckily with my ability to make people laugh, I am being told that I will fascinate viewers. They have not seen anything like it as yet! I just hope that they will laugh with me and not AT me. Well, the proof is in the pudding, so I shall have to prove myself. I can't wait either!! Just you all watch this space!!
