FICTIONWISE AWARDS FOR 2005
January 2006
OBSCURE WRITER NAMED AUTHOR OF THE YEAR, MAKES INTERNATIONAL BEST SELLER LIST
Darrell Bain, a resident Shepherd, a small town north of Houston, has been lauded as a leading figure in the expanding electronic book industry. Agents and/or publishers wishing to work with Mr. Bain to help him capitalize on his success with ebooks and expand his following to the print industry may contact him from the e-mail link on his web site, www.darrellbain.com
From the Fictionwise Web Site: http://www.fictionwise.com/2005.htm, the largest purveyor of eBook fiction:
Best-selling science fiction and fantasy author Darrell Bain is the 2005 Fictionwise E-book Author of the Year. Mr. Bain is one of the top selling authors at Fictionwise and his works maintained an extremely high average rating from Fictionwise members. Authors Lois McMaster Bujold and Anne McCaffrey were second and third, respectively. Mr. Bain’s books also outsold such notables as Stephen King, Michael Connelly, Michael Crichton, and other nationally known authors whose books appeared in electronic form as well as in print.
Bain stated to Fictionwise “Being named Fictionwise Author of the Year is a signal honor, one I never imagined could happen to me.”
From the International Digital Publishing Forum web site, www.idpf.org
In other E-book news, Darrell Bain’s Science fiction novel, ALIEN INFECTION, is also listed by The International Digital Publishing Forum in its annual industry list of top selling eBooks today. “The list reflects the great diversity of eBook titles reaching the reading public…”
Through arrangements with his publishers, almost all of Bain’s books are available for Hard Cover/Mass Market Paperback rights. About two thirds of Mr. Bain’s books are currently in print in limited editions. Besides science fiction, Mr. Bain also writes humor and Supense/Thrillers and recently signed a movie option agreement for one of his more popular E-books. With the ability now to read books and novels on almost any hand held device, including the new Palm Treo phones, Bain sees almost unlimited growth ahead for electronic publishing. Sales of the new Treo phones and Palm devices include a free CD with excerpts of 20 downloadable titles, most by nationally known authors. An excerpt from Savage Survival, one of Bain’s titles is also on the CD. This illustrates perfectly how the E-book field, particularly in fiction, is growing much faster than the print industry.
Again, Agents and/or publishers wishing to work with Mr. Bain to help him capitalize on his terrific success with ebooks and expand his following to the print industry may contact him from the e-mail link on his web site, www.darrellbain.com
