I was so impressed with this website, I needed to share it with all of you.
Last month I introduced you to a logo which will become a permanent symbol of my home site and my name. I had been looking for one for well over a year, when thanks to the wonderful age we live in, it was delivered to me. It came about after I stumbled upon a site entitled Clean and Sober Not Dead.
About once a month I google my name to see where I am at on the Internet and also to check on possible copyright violations. As I scrolled through the sites that I already recognized I figured there was nothing new and was about ready to click off when I noticed a new one appeared under the title of "Sober not Dead." I became curious as to what this was, as I truly loved the name. There is so much truth in that saying. Hey, I quit drinking, but I didn't quit living. In fact, I'm probably living more now then ever.
So I clicked on the link and found the neatest home made site on recovery that I have seen on the 'net. This is an information warehouse with so much more. Links to a lot of great sites, including this one. But so much more then just links. There is an area to start your own recovery blog, as well as pages set up for forums. The forums are set up in such a way that you could have a 12-step meeting, right in the comforts of your own home.
As every person in recovery knows, you need a good sense of humor to survive. And this site also caters to this need in us. With cartoons and comics. And for more entertainment there is an assortment of fun videos.
If you're early in recovery this site is a MUST SEE. If you're not sure of what to do or who to see you'll find the information you need. And if you're uncomfortable about letting go of your secret - just yet - join a forum or start a blog. Like an AA meeting you don't need to reveal your identity if you don't want to.
Besides being a great stop for the newcomer, Clean And Sober Not Dead is a great site for the old-timers. I'll guarantee you'll smile and remember some things you haven't thought of in years.
This is a first for me. I have never reviewed a site before, but after a few e-mails with the administrator of this site I felt really comfortable in doing this. I shared one of his e-mails with my newsletter group and you can sense the humility in this person and their hope of helping others. Stop by, the coffee is brewing and I know you'll be among friends.
