Definition of ice berg in the Webster :
1.a large floating mass of ice ,detached from a glacier and carried out to sea.
2.an emotionally cold person.
3. Australia.informal:a person who swims and surfs regularly in winter.

The ice berg theories are well-known to humanity:Freud(1856-1939) compared the human subconscious to the part lying under water ,meaning that what we do,feel, and say is x% unconsciously hidden in the water of our childhood.
Stating that the human psyche is molded and that memories and dreams emerge from the unconscious was subversive at the time and psychoanalysis was founded.

Merleau-Ponty(1908-1961),French philosopher, in his "Phénomologie de la perception", develops a theory about the essence of Time.He claims quite scientifically that the ice berg melts into water;water slides into the river, and the river throws itself into the sea_If time is similar to the river, the ice berg which is the past, throws itself into the present river, and then into futur sea_Heraclite which is a major source for the analysis of time was strongly criticized by Saint-Augustin,Bergson,and Heidegger:"tout s'écoule".Merleau Ponty goes further to say that Time exists only because of the relationship we have to things and that therefore,it is not a real process and mentions Eternity.

Today,we often read about the ice berg to talk of ecological problems such as global warming.Movies such as "The Day After Tomorrow "exist to entertain, warn and shock the public. What next ice berg theory will blow the mind of the public?
