Navarette's rant about giving illigals rights
By Jake George

Ruban Navarrette said it is racist to not allow illigals to have drivers licenses.

In a blog by Ruban Navarrette today, he stated that not giving licenses to illegal immigrants was racist. He stated that giving them licenses will help to protect drivers because they will know that the person who plowed into their car, killing their family was an illegal immigrant.

I submitted the following comment to his blog site on CNN.

When will we as a people stand against illegal practices. We give people who broke the law to come here (understanding they wanted a better life) benefits such as a drivers license. Driving is a privilege. Not a right. We take action against those who drive illegally. Yet we will take another group and give them licenses because they broke the law to come here? Other nations have people waiting to come to our country. They fill out the visa paperwork and wait. Why should illegals get rights to drive, attend collages and to our public assistance when they have in essence cut the line. Kind of simple logic but it fits. If you are standing in line for the checkout and there are twenty people there, a person jumps the line because he thinks if he gets through before the others he can better his life. You would have twenty angry people. They took the stance to wait their turn. Now the line jumper gets benefits for doing wrong?

What do we tell our children? Is it ok for us to wait because the person feels economically depressed and wants to get ahead of you. Yes he / she broke the law doing it but you give them support. No wonder kids think nothing of breaking minor laws. They are not enforced only encouraged.

I say no support for illegals. Go home and come to the country in the proper way. Learn our language and customs. We are after all a country with a history. As a Native American I am used to not being given access to basic rights. And we want to give them to people who come here illegally. No not on my watch and I will vote for any one who agrees with my opinion.

Great and timely article! It's just common sense really...don't break our laws. Otherwise, we welcome you with open arms and hearts!

AMEN!!!!!!!! Thank you, Jake, for speaking what's on the minds of many. ENOUGH'S ENOUGH. My twin can't get disability: not disabled enough. A law breaker can get it. I served my country, and can't get decent medical care. A lawbreaker can get it. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

And then we cater to them in their own language: press 'one' for English, 'two' por espanol. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
