Get a human customer service

In this day and age of technology, we seem to have been caught up in the quickest, easiest, and cheapest way we can accomplish things. Large businesses have taken the technological force to a new level. Never let the customer speak with a person.

It is a head in the sand attitude. The problem does not go away. All the companies accomplish is a disgruntle customer who may or may not return.

I personally do not return. I also have a big mouth when I am unhappy. The old saying word of mouth can be an excellent source of advertisement can also destroy a business. I use the word of mouth source of advertisement as often and as much as I can. I tell everyone how unhappy I was with whichever store or company did not do what they promised they would do.

I still to this day, do not walk into a business that uses Telecheck, Discount Auto, JC Penney and a particular restaurant in the Titusville Mall that claims to serve Italian food but fails to deliver it to their patrons and then expects you to pay for food you have not received...

Anyway, I have come across in my travels a web site that has phone numbers. This web site claims that these phone numbers will get you to real live people. Yup, that is what they claim.

I hope this helps.

Hi Pamela,
Very good article and it leaves plenty of room for some people to care about human customers.I was in Home Depot awhile back and one of front end people asked me what I thought of the electronic checkout.I said I'd rather a person check my things than something electronic.I was asked why and I said things like that takes jobs away from people.Electronics can be a wonderful thing but not when it comes to taking jobs away from people who are trying to make a living.

What aggravates me most is the companies who call your home to solicit business but use a recording to do it. Why is their time so precious? I worked in customer service and I agree with Fee. Though you're not getting paid much, it's important to smile and be friendly even when you don't feel happy. You are a reflection upon that business. Word of mouth is very powerful - I wish more people would use that power like you do! Great write!

I agree with you a hundred percent, even the jokers who work the cash registers at fast food joints have forgotten how to smile it seems. I know that our jobs aren't always the ones we would choose...still if we are getting paid to wait on people, smiles should be a requirement or money cheerfully refunded out of salary, I bet you would see grins from ear to ear.
