A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Proverbs 18:24

Dear Lord, give me this day a plain-spoken friend. For the good of my soul let me smart under his honest criticism: let him mirrow my faults, that I may see as the world sees. Let him not sooth me with the honeyed phrases which are casual friendship's common currency. Let him not out of kindness overlook petty weaknesses nor, observing, hide from me his disappointment. But offer, to me alone let him point the error of my ways with firm frankness. And having pointed, may he continue to love, and cherish. And be as valiant as before to defend me staunchly from "The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" and the attacks of others. With one such friend, Dear God I shall face the world unafraid and unashamed. Give me this friend this day. Amen

Very nice, Betty. I believe this is what a true friends does for us, and without malice or undue hurt.
