Denuke Pakistan?

"For the first time, the world is dealing with fanatics whose thinking is beyond the comprehension of normal human beings. The safety of the Pakistani (nuclear) arsenal, therefore, is of concern to the entire international community....  The United States is trying its best to keep Pervez Musharraf in good humor by doling out dollars. But what of the fanatics in the ISI..." (The Hindustan Times,10/31)

You can almost see saliva dripping from rancid yellow fangs across the border. The issue bouncing off walls is the safety of Pakistani nukes. America has offered help but since when do farmers leave their sheep in the wolf’s safekeeping? Or do they?

Despite US sanctions intended to dawdle progress, a Muslim nation possess nuclear prowess. India hardly wanted this, Israel can’t stomach it and so America has to step in! The American call for providing security for Pakistan’s symbol of strength is seen as an explicit attempt to gain control or access to nuclear assets. Secrecy of the storage sites is a key aspect of Pakistan's nuclear strategy. Even if Pakistan were to accept, finding a proper balance between security and secrecy will be exigent causing breach of confidentiality regarding whereabouts of storage facilities not to mention meting out a furtive scheme for the US to scrutinize Pakistan’s nuclear program.

Either way, US will throw down challenges from every possible angle: nuclear security, sponsored terrorism, Kashmir issue, South Asian stability, national stability etc. Let alone a hypothetically unstable nuclear Islamic state, even a stable one would propel waves of trepidation throughout Israel and hence US.

One prospering Muslim nation today insinuates other challenging Muslims nations tomorrow: a deathblow to Israel’s occupation of Palestine. One near Israel is perilous to its struggling dominion in the Middle East. Every Muslim leader who keeps splashing headlines is feared to ignite the Muslin sentiments. You see, the Jews still remember and dread the grandeur, the steel and the academic grasp of the precedent Muslim ere… it’s a pity the Muslims themselves don’t.

Israel will pull out all the stops to have Pakistan’s nuclear arsenals removed. America will eventually bow before Israel whim, embrace Pakistan and stab it in the back.

The New Yorker carried a caption:

“Israeli Commandos Train U.S. To De-Nuclearize Pakistan: Report".

It reported of an Israeli commando team, engaged in behind-the-lines operations including theft and assassinations, training U.S. forces to divest Pakistan of nuclear weapons in case of coup.

And as if Israel alone wasn’t enough, now there is also grave concern over the Indian-Israeli nexus, the growing defense cooperation with a two billion dollar deal. Israel gets technology from US, which will now be forwarded to India, and it’s not like the White House and Pentagon don’t know where it is heading…

This pact threatens to crush the Kashmir and Palestine freedom movements. India now has to balance its interests cautiously and tread the tightrope without hurting Arab sentiments. It stands in risking estranging old friends for an irresolute newly-fangled romance.

And speaking of budding relations, what’s prompted India and Pakistan to become cronies? US might take advantage of the illusory harmony and pursue Pakistan to roll back on its nuclear front. But predictably this masquerade will end even before it begins. How can anybody square off two nations that have loathed each other for splattering bloodbaths? Carnage that’s left eternal stains on the pages of world history? It seems more like a sham if not an insult! How it that even endurable with Kashmir swinging on the noose?

With India and America stirring the mιlange, rest assured that more follows the rising stench. Kashmir might be placed on the international agenda, US might show greater inclination towards Pakistan, the record of US ruses against other nations might be forgotten while the chewing gum still has flavor, but nothing can deny the fact the US is itchy as long as Pakistan has it’s nuclear arsenal.

If the need arises on the political chessboard to holler checkmate, Musharraf like the Shah of Iran…err... I mean Musharraf like Nikita Khrushchev will be forced to recognize that the conformist and nuclear military balance of power favors the other side. He too will have to throw in the towel to the ultimatum imposed because premeditated economic interests that US has in India (strategic/political interests, countering radical Islamic forces and providing a somewhat strategic counterbalance to China) are too significant to be endangered by incessant inclination towards Pakistan. So while India can get radar surveillance planes from Israel… any F-16’s that Pakistan wants to procure will be refunded with Soya Bean Oil...to oil the political machinery!!!

Deep misgivings about the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear remain owing to the exaggerated furor. Unless Pakistani military utterly fragments and a rogue element seizes control, it is unlikely for central control of storage facilities to be lost and nuclear winding up in unauthorized possession. Though an ideal excuse for US to jump in on its contingency plan to swiftly extract Pakistan's “Islamic Bomb” (dubbed by Zionist controlled international media), Pakistani army is one of the finest and disciplined militia and unless a substantial number of the key corps commanders, under dire circumstances, lead a Coup-d’etat to challenge General Pervez Musharraf, the military’s firm grip on the state will remain intact.

Terrorists’ stealing nuclear is a creative and idealistic notion. The National Command Authority under military tutelage maintains control with ironclad measures to deal with contingencies of threat over nuclear weapons facilities while a Strategic Planning Division headed by a three-star general supervise operations. The nuclear weapon infrastructure is dispersed, the facilities safeguarded and critical nuclear weapons are relocated periodically. So even if a defector group manages to breach the security of one installation in a dubious episode, they would lack the technical sophistication to use weapons.

The American intelligence believes that infiltrated al-Qaeda fighters are sheltered in Pakistan and aided by military/ intelligence agencies. Reality is that the recent landslide victory in elections of extremist groups in Baluchistan and Frontier is not owing to their popularity but rather the flux of dollars from an unknown source. Bottom line: Bring them in power now…use them later as bait.

What’s being posed is a nation penetrated by lured Islamic radicals, in precarious possession of nuclear and reportedly proliferating them to other dictatorial countries. For US, the fabricated excuse that Pakistan cannot put a tight lid on its nuclear proliferation activities gives a false incentive to intervene. After all if kegs could disappear from the Russian inventory, who says Pakistan can’t misplace a few. In fact… I’m wonder if US has given thought to the possibility of one sitting in Washington this very moment. Or maybe London or even Delhi for all that we know…

Then the looming fact that archrivals with incipient nuclear arsenals stand over disputed border cannot be denied. That this lingering bleeding issue can become explosive cannot be denied. The world wants Pakistan and India to talk out their differences rather then dueling ‘em out at 30 paces and that too with nuclear. Though such an incident is unlikely, wars never tend to follow designed and clean paths and America cannot risk a nuclear exchange in South Asia.

This way or that way, no Indian government in their right mind or without a ploy will dismantle its nuclear weapons program and that makes it unfeasible for Pakistan to part with theirs, and anyways, why should they! Why doesn’t America take to pieces its own nuclear capabilities and set a lionizing example.

The scenario that India might push the initial button and carry out strikes against Pakistan’s nuclear installations is also unlikely. India knows it can’t play the Cheshire Cat for long; it is not capable of an all-encompassing strike, hence Pakistan though raggedy, is bound to even the score with all likeness and indignation. And neither is India blind to the appalling diplomatic/political fallout that would chase it.

Both nations recognize the consequences of their nuclear revolution as witnessed during the Kargil war. Decision-makers on both sides cannot yet stomach to inflate the span of the clash beyond alternatives of egresses, which would rouse a panic-stricken conflict and an unintended cessation. And anyways India and Pakistan are flanked by the MOU quietly signed between both nations concerning nuclear assets and nuclear testing.

Nuclear swamps of mass destruction have to be drained, till then the world sits on the precarious tip of an iceberg. Taking out Pakistan’s nuclear is not the solution that will extraordinarily benefit global peace and stability. Despite how Jewish and other biased mediums render it, Pakistan is not yet on a rickety nuclear crag and nor is South Asia on the precipice of nuclear cataclysm, yet…

Nevertheless the fact remains that someone is waiting to change the fate Pakistan’s nuclear. Somebody is sniffing around for an excuse. Somebody else really wants to screech, ‘ I told you so’. Somebody is misleading someone somewhere for some reason. Someone is about to smirk, ‘Guess who!’…And it isn’t me, nor is it you...

A cute little puppy like you shouldn't be worrying your pretty head about things nuclear... Forget about the Hindus, Muslims, Zionists, Zoroastrians, etc. Think "pop-star" competition. Can u sing? Cause you sure can't write, coherently anyways.

Could you please clarify what you mean by this remark?

An interesting article. However one feels that the attack on India is more an attempt to satisfy existing public preceptions and attitudes mostly propogated by highly pro-establishment people. I thought you were different and had more of a broad view towards India. However regretfully you too are one of those see the threat of Nuclear weapons falling into wrong hands in India then the chances of a greater likelihood of Nuclear misuse in Pakistan.

Anyway keep up the effort and keep writing.
