Dear God,

On this special day for my people and my nation, we need Your guidance more than ever before. Even in our sins have You watched over us, allowed us to prosper and grow. And now it seems as if the very fabric of that red, white, and blue is falling apart at the seams. No one cares about who they elect, and who‘s in government. They’re more concerned about grilling out, cold beers, and sports. They’re more concerned about American Idol, and other pointless drivel. What is happening to this nation? We’ve forgotten where You brought us from. We have forgotten the struggles of our forefathers, the miracles you wrought at Valley Forge under General Washington. We have stepped all over the Constitution, which was Your will for this country. We’ve set our own laws above Yours, and in our haughtiness and arrogance have we offended You and Your Son.
Bring back a restoration of Patriotism and Holiness to this nation, God. Let a spirit of repentance and humbleness sweep over America, a “true ” Third Great Awakening. I’d like to think that we’re not too far gone, Lord, and that this country can still return to the alter, kneel before You, and repent of her sins. Keep watch over my country God, continue to watch over and protect our troops, grant us a total victory against the forces of Islam, give our spineless leaders the guidance they need in these dark times. May we have many more birthdays to honor what You have given us, the freedoms that all men should have. Thank You for all that You have done for this country. Amen.
