Inspirational Sayings

The following are a sample of motivational and inspirational sayings that can really make a difference when life seems to be going in the wrong direction. They are “Gold Nuggets” of inspiration that can sometimes get you through some tough moments. A personal favorite is “When the going gets tough; the tough get going.” This saying was so popular back in the 80’s that it became lyrics to a song by BillyOcean. This saying helped to inspire me to become an officer in the US Air Force and later on to earn a doctorate degree in Higher Education. I personalized this saying by adding a few more lines, “When the going get tough, the tough get going. I am tough, so I need to get going.”

on the hills that brings us showers of blessings.”

“A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you, and were helped by you, will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered.

Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.”

Charles Hadden Spurgeon (Author)

“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line.

You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.”

“As you go along the road of life, you will, if you aim high enough, also meet resistance… but no matter how tough the opposition may seem,

have courage still – and persevere.”

Madeleine Albright (politician)

“I am not a has-been. I am a will-be.”

Lauren Bacall (actress)

“Success has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself.

It’s what you do for others.”

“Flaming enthusiasm, back up by horse sense and persistence,

is the quality that most frequently makes for success.”

Dale Carnegie

“Many persons have the wrong idea of what constitutes real happiness. It is not obtained through self-gratification but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.”

There are two ways to live your life. One is though nothing is a miracle, the other is as though EVERYTHING is a miracle.”

Albert Einstein

You only lose energy when life becomes dull in your mind. Your mind gets bored and therefore tired of doing nothing. Get interested in something! Get absolutely enthralled in something! Get out of yourself! Be somebody! Do something. The more you lose yourself in something bigger than yourself, the more energy you will have.

Norman Vincent Peale
