Prayer to the Divine Appointer
As we celebrate the freedoms of our nation, God help us to remember who created this union. For all of my life I have lived in the freedom that was created by our forefathers under Your Divine leadership to accomplish Your purpose in the universe.
And though I cannot see your purpose, it is not for me to decide who is appointed to be our leaders, only to be aware that by our vote, whomever we put into office, it is in our power as a free people to remove them, with the blessing of our Father in heaven.
For You have ordained it.
Nothing worthwhile is ever accomplished without pain, and so it is with America. We are still struggling in the throes of birth pains, and when we come forth, let us remain the mightiest nation under God and His governing hand.
As the Divine Appointer, I ask you to help us find those who will be best suited to accomplish your purpose. And let us remember, it is Your purpose.
Because You have allowed me to live my life in this beautiful land, rocked in the arms of freedom which was made possible by the giving of life by so many who have gone before me,
because we know that Your Word is the only truth,
because you have shown that part of Your purpose was to allow men to live in freedom which states that all should have the right to find happiness in a safe environment,
because I am allowed to sit at my computer and pass this prayer out to others who feel the same, I ask that You in Your great mercy help us to attain the goals that you have set for America's accomplishments. And forgive us those deeds of destruction which have been perpetrated against this God created nation.
I am asking today as I often do, help us to put down those institutions that will eventually destroy this freedom if not aborted in their growth.
Help us to ferret out the destroyers of our nation and bring them to see that only through Your saving Grace can we remain a free nation.
I ask your forgiveness for any deed I have done, or any word I have uttered that helps to destroy this freedom.
Give me words of grace and beauty, and strength to speak out for my country, and that I will have the courage to utter against those same destroyers for whom I pray.
And help me to always remember that You are the Divine Appointer and that Your purpose for America will be done.
Amen, and Amen.
