Can the tide be stemmed by the resignation of the Pope Benedict XVI due to the revelations in Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and other countries regarding the priest pedophiles in the Catholic Church? We in the U.S. have had a large share of scandals regarding the sexual abuse of priests with young boys and some girls with the dioceses paying large sums of money to those who experienced the abuse. Now the scandals and revelations have spread to Europe and South America. The history of the Catholic Church is rife with unsavory events and persecutions. It appears that their motto is "Do as I say, not as I do." Is this rock of Peter crumbling? What other secrets have they hidden?
When I first began researching material for my book Secrets of the Magdalene Scrolls, I came across many items of interest regarding the deceptions of the Catholic Church and one is the story of Pope Joan, a woman. The Catholic Church alleges there was no Pope Joan and that it is a myth that began supposedly two hundred years after the event. I came across material that alleges she was born of English missionaries who lived in Germany approximately in the first half of the 7th century. Actually the Christian movement began in Ireland and spread into Europe around 590 A.D. Ireland and Britain sent missionaries out to Christianize the pagans.”
Apparently, Joan was taught to read and to write in addition to having a thirst for knowledge. Joan traveled to Athens with a male companion. During those early years, it was unheard of for a woman to be educated. Therefore, Joan dressed as a male, became active in church affairs, and rose to the position of a curia secretary. With her status elevated to a curia secretary, it would seem plausible that Joan moved to Rome along with her lover. There is also a dispute as to when she was pope. One version is that she was pope from 854 or 855 A.D. for several years. If this is so, then it is possible that she could have been Pope John VIII circa 854-855 A.D. According to the Chronicon, John Anglicus born in Mainz was Pope for two years plus. The Chronicon is a chronicle of historical events and is attributed to Martin of Opava, Chronicon Pontificum et Imperatorum. Supposedly, she – aka John Anglicus became Pope and received a high opinion from those who lived in Rome. However, sex does enter the picture and Joan/John became pregnant by her lover. She almost pulled it off by wearing the papal robe.
The version of the story I am writing about reveals that it was possibly through ignorance of when the actual date of delivery was to occur, that Pope Joan while in a procession going from St. Peter's to the Lateran went into intense labor. Traveling perhaps by horse on the narrow street once named Via Sacra, she delivered her infant – a son on the street. The street is now known as the shunned street, which is between St. Clements's Church and the Coliseum. There are several accounts regarding her death and one is that she was killed on the spot and buried there. For years, the Popes have avoided the street due to this event. No wonder the papal historians would want to call this revelation a myth. There is a probability that the rule of the people electing the pope was changed due to this event by having a small selected group to elect a pope. What does this bit of history have to do with the Porphyry Chair?
A little known papal chair is the sella stercoraria, also known as the chaise percée or Porphyry Chair, which features a keyhole-shaped opening in the middle. The legend persists that its purpose was to verify the gender of the pope. In other words, to see if the pope had testicles. The chair was part of the papal coronation for many years. The newly elected pope would sit on the chair while a cardinal would get down and look to see if the pope was indeed a male. The cardinal had to declare that the pope did have testicles and therefore was a man. The cardinals would then lift him up while on the chair and carry the pope onward to his Papal Coronation. No pope has been required to do this since Leo X (1513-1521 A.D.). Pope Pius VII gave the last chair to King Louis XVIII in appreciation for returning many works of art confiscated by Napoleon. That chair is in the Louvre Museum in Paris with a duplicate chair is in the Vatican Museum and/or St. John’s Lateran.
There are disagreements regarding the origin and the use of the Porphyry Chair. None of the reasons put forth seem viable. Now why would a pope have to have his testicles viewed in order to prove he was a male? This is why I deem it to be a strong possibility that the saga of Pope Joan had everything to do with it. The time is now for the hypocrisy and sexual perversion of the Catholic Church to be revealed and to crumble.
“There are books on the subject of Pope Joan. Diane Sawyer did a television program on Pope Joan a few years ago when Donna Woolfolk Cross' book Pope Joan was being made into a movie. Pope Joan has been associated with unusual events such as "…in Brescia it rained blood for three days and nights. In France, there appeared marvelous locusts which had six wings and very powerful teeth. They flew miraculously through the air, and all drowned in the British Sea. The golden bodies were rejected by the waves of the sea and corrupted the air, so that a great many people died." (Francesco Petrarch Chronica de le Vite de Pontefici et imperadon Romani)
