Journeys: Stories of Pregnancy After Loss. For the parent who has experienced miscarriage or stillbirth...to cope through the subsequent pregnancy.
Journeys: Stories of Pregnancy After Loss is a great read for anyone living through a SPALS pregnancy.
What can I expect reading this book?
Journeys is written for parents by parents who have experienced miscarriage and stillbirth and are now coping with a subsequent pregnancy. The reader can expect to see a glimpse of the writers' pain, sometimes in great detail, and also the writers' hopes.
How is Journeys organized?
Journeys is authored by eleven writers, ten mothers and one father. Each writer penned a "chapter pair" detailing their loss and their subsequent pregnancy. Journeys travels from first trimester miscarriages, second trimester deliveries and fullterm stillbirths. The last author wrote about her taking care of her terminally ill infant and the decision to have another child.
Are all the chapters by persons who have lost?
Journeys includes a Foreword by leading stillbirth expert, Dr. Michael Berman, founder of Hygeia. A concluding chapter written by a Grief Counselor summarizes the book.
What really is the benefit of reading this book?
This book gives hope, it offers a hand to hold along the very difficult and excruciating path of subsequent pregnancy.
