Getting older doesn't always have to affect us in a negative way!

Old age creeps up on us when we least expect it! One day we look at ourselves in the mirror and are bewildered by what we see, forgetting about the beautiful person that we still are inside. Old age is but a reflection of our wisdom and attitude. Some of us wear it like fine linen and others like hand-me-downs.
We concentrate too much on usefulness to family and friends now that old age has overtaken us. We begin to feel a sense of guilt because of the burden we feel we have placed on others. We feel that the biggest part and most meaningful, has passed us by and now it is too late. There is no turning back the clock. We are doomed to this mere existance until the clock runs out. Oh, but do we have to suffer this inhumane meaningless affliction?
Have we forgotton all the years of happiness and accomplishments we have had? Have we forgotten all the words of encouragement we gave to family and friends in their time of crisis? Now, have we no Faith in ourselves and God to enable us to age gracefully?
We have endured much in our lifetime! Much more than we can possibly endure in the short time we have left. Why then don't we fill our last days with thankfulness for the many blessings he has bestowed upon us!
Through the knowledge we have acquired, why not use it wisely to help those still to go through the aging process to keep a loving attitude.
If we all stick together through caring for our fellow man, we will surely in old age project from within us a radiant glow!

Old age is like the rest of your life, 'What you make it'. I'm enjoying mine, and those not yet old would say that, if you can make it, 'The best is yet to come'. I just love cliches :)
