Book Review: Write to Murder
“Write to Murder” written by Jerry Pat Bolton could also be titled the redemption of Detective Lee Fontaine and still be the first class mystery that it is. Through all the who is murdering who to who is doing who for all the sordid reasons, this book intrigues and entertains.
From the introduction of the first character through the end, you will meet characters that are endearing and at times insightful, but flawed. Detective Lee Fontaine, the protagonist, is no exception. Lee’s life is pathetic, but takes a turn for the better when a co-worker drops off a puppy that she says she will pick up in the morning. That morning never comes, but what does is the unconditional love of the puppy, which grounds Lee enough that he sobers up. Lee begins to perceive his world with the patience and practicality he needs to unravel the web of murders that seem to have no end.
The twists and turns of this mystery will keep you on edge as you meet the Southern characters who pick you up and carry you off into their own madness. Truly, a fascinating read with emotional roller coasters that do not disappoint and bring you to a quite nice ending.
