This article is about the proper application and uses for The "Palma Christi," a natural health remedy.
During the middle ages, the castor oil plant was christened the "Palma Christi" or the palm of Christ, perhaps for its miraculous healing powers.
After reading about Edgar Cayce's and Dr. William McGarey's success with castor oil packs, I decided to try them myself in spite of my lingering
childhood memories of the odor and taste of the plant. Since then, many of my friends and relatives have used castor oil packs sucessfully for bronchiatis, colds, injuries, lower back pain, hyperactivity and nausea.
If you would like to try this remedy, you will need a flannel cloth, a plastic sheet of medium thickness, a heating pad, bathtowel, and two safety pins. Pour some castor oil onto the cloth until it is wet, but not soaked or dripping. Apply the flannel cloth to the specific area with a plastic covering over the wet flannel. On top of the plastic, place the heating pad. Turn the temperature to medium, then raise or lower it as desired. You may want to wrap a towel, folded lengthwise, around the area and fasten it with safety pins. Leave this in place for one to one and one-half hours. To cleanse your skin afterwards, use two teaspoons of baking soda to one-quart of water.
This treatment may be used for one to seven consecutive days a week. Dr.McGary recommends taking a tolerable amount of olive oil after every third treatment.
It is my belief as is also suggested by Dr. McGary, that not only does the "Palma Christi" plant heal, but so too does faith. Perhaps, our faith raises our own powers of healing. The Cayce material states, healing is a divine influence interjected into the atomic, electrical nature of the human being and his environment. Whether the healing is attributed to the doctor, the patient, the castor oil plant or to faith , there is often a healing with the "Palma Christi."

Palma Christi is amazing! I've used it for my daughter's sprained finger and now using an awesome blend Palm'Argile to heal a strained elbow! Palma Christi should be in everyone's home...for burns (after cooling down), sprains, contusions, muscle pain relief, etc. I even use a skin care line Palm'Hydra that uses Palma Christi as its main ingredient! And for Peter Greenways comment...there are better heat sources out there, especially for castor oil pack treatments (more info on my blog outsideinlife.com)

There are Palma Christi soaps, lotions and essential oils available, many of which can be purchased on the net. Strangly, this "miracle healer" is derived from the same sourse as the deadly poison, Ricin.

Palma Christi work very well for me, and I sure would recommend it. However with the heatpad, one should not have it on longer then 1 hour. A timer or person is otherwise required. Regards, Peter. *
