I think you might have missed your calling! I see the natural born teacher coming out in you in so many of your writings! However, you are doing a wonderful job writing. Very helpful article.

Good work, Victoria. We have a 4 YO toddler who will start next year in Pre-Primary (he'll turn five on April 18).
I am a teacher myself and am very much aware of the importance of the points raised by you. They are SO VERY important and the tragedy for some kids is that their parents don't have time to get involved to the extent recommended by your list. "Too busy, what with work and catching up on domestic duties". I'm afraid lots of modern lifestyles don't cater for these very important childhood needs. Although, I think more people are waking up and ordering their priorities in more child-friendly ways.
Let's hope your article gets lots of quality exposure. |
