Pretty self-explanitory.

I wonder, as I ponder over yet another rejected query letter; can agents read?

Are they somehow unable to look at the first 2 pages of a manuscript and decide whether or not it has potential? How long does that endeavor take? Five minutes? Ten maybe, with a coffee break? Come on, there aren't that many writers. Especially considering that they seem to hide their webpages so well that you practically need the people at the Student Loans office to track them down.

Is anyone else as frustrated about this as I am?

Literary agents are only human. Give them a break. If you had to read as many manuscripts, query letters, begging notes and everything else shoved under their noses you would be pretty fed up. And it's not a small amount they have to get through, it might be tens of thousands (esp if they're a popular agent).

So don't moan if your manuscript is returned. Give them something that makes them smile, brings a little sunshine into their day. Try and try again if you don't succeed.

p.s explanitory should be spelt explanatory
