An article published by The Essex Free Press concerning the release of Triangular Reflections. W.R. Brett, Editor.
Paul E. Morin, a new local author, has lived in the Essex County area for most of his life. He lived in Windsor for approximately thirty years. He met his wife of sixteen years in Windsor. He attended St. Clair College and the University of Windsor where he studied Business Management. Paul worked at a small plastics company for ten years. For the past five years, he has enjoyed the fulfilling experience of being a stay at home Dad. Paul and his family currently reside in Kingsville.
Inspired from the beginning on this particular journey, Paul E. Morin has crafted his written debut, Triangular Reflections, predominantly from a vivid imagination and from personal experience.
"I've been clean and sober for almost fifteen years. I was moved to write Triangular Reflections from this perspective."
Three years in the making and eleven rewrites later, this mainstream inspirational novel has taken on a life of its own.
"I had absolutely no idea what would come out when I stroked the first few words. Once I got going, the story showed itself to me. It was like watching a movie of sorts," states the young novelist. "Initially, I was inspired to write this novel strictly for myself. As fate would have it, Triangular Reflections has continued to dictate its matter of course to me. I believe this story will arouse a full spectrum of emotions in its reader, and ultimately, I hope that it impacts people in a positive, uplifting manner."
For a first time novelist, the odds are long on being published. This offering was release by America House in the United States recently. "The fact this novel has been published is a dream come true . I am grateful to have the opportunity to share this story with others," says the local writer.
Triangular Reflections explores a plethora of social ills that are present in the world today. Some of the social issues that are seamlessly woven into the fabric of this dynamic odyssey are drug addiction, alcoholism and homelessness.
This story spans over a contemporary period of thirty years. Magnificent backdrops are sprinkled into this saga from Toronto to New Zealand.
In Triangular Reflections, three major characters dominate the shadows in the underbelly of this novel.
Emma is an alcoholic and a drug-addicted prostitute who plies her trade on the mean streets of Toronto. This young woman's soul is wrecked and ravaged. She faces a myriad of challenges in this tale. Emma is placed in the untenable position of having to make a traumatic decision that will affect her forever! With incredible difficulty, she does her best to survive each obstacle and carry on.
Jimmy is a juvenile delinquent. His childhood dictated that some time ago. It is not in the realm of possibilities that he could reasonably expect any other kind of existence.
Frank is a mechanic who is the proprietor of his own garage. He is a wonderful, caring man, whose heart has been shattered.
These characters' lives intertwine with each other through a complex and compelling series of dramatic events. Every now and again, wondrous mircacles occur when tragedy is ever present.
"To write this story and watch its characters evolve in my mind's eye is a treasured experience," adds the local author.
