Some words of The Memory of the Mirror,
poems of ClaudioSerraBrun with recording music of Europe and America
...The Memory of the Mirror – Poetry and music from Europe and America, the series of discs of Claudio Serra Brun, which gathers his poems from the more than thirty years of his dedication to poetry, with music by European and American composers. ...The renovating idea within the poetic ambit of divulging poetry in a different format, with no books, clothed with the music on discs, tapes, and video-clips which make it worthy of consideration by the youth is truly the objective of this work: That poetry reaches all the youth through the mass media and the internet. Claudio Serra Brun is, as of today, the only Spanish language poet (in Spain and America) who has been publishing his poetry in CD and tape format. His style of presenting poetry is, at the moment, innovative and unique within the Spanish cultural spectrum. . We always should keep alive the vision of evidence: that the summary of the work of the entire humanity gives us a positive result and that it makes civilizations progress.
...In THE MEMORY OF THE MIRROR Poetry and music from Europe and America, Claudio Serra Brun blends his poems with the music of European and American composers. In this fifth edition, he builds a lyric and eternal history, a symphonic poem from the heights of the Andean Cordillera, carried on by the melodies of the Bolivian maestro of the five-stringed Andean guitar (also known as charango), ERNESTO CAVOUR, and the magician of the Latin-American percussion, the Argentinean, DOMINGO CURA. These two renowned authors, who are part of the American and universal culture, feed from a long time ago with the veneration of their work, the multiple communicating aspects of the popular American art. To the poems of Claudio Serra Brun, the interpretation of the radio announcer and playwright, Oscar Perez, and that of the contralto, Cristina Aguilar, is added to this volume V of THE MEMORY OF THE MIRROR. With the mastery of these two voices, a subtle environment is bestowed upon this work. Finally, the final audio effects blend with the voices, the metaphors, and the music; elements which make this work turn into one more character, a character which links, with its steps and strokes of life, the history narrated by the poems and the music. The renovating idea within the poetic ambit of divulging poetry in a different format, with no books, clothed with the music on discs, tapes, and video-clips which make it worthy of consideration by the youth is truly the objective of this work: That poetry reaches all the youth through the mass media, the radio, and the internet. “}...I hope and wish that this way of bringing poetry to the contents of the popular music, manage to pierce through the souls of all the authors from around the world which are part of the Hispanic American culture, and that productions such as this, grow in other countries of the American continent,” said its author, Claudio Serra Brun. It is the author’s inexcusable ethical compromise to try to reach everyone: the ones that read and the ones who don’t, the youth which yearns for certainties and values in life, which seeks to love, to think, to believe, but also – according to the great Vicente Aleixandre - to the “undemonstratives of heart, and the people who are scabrous like towers.” “}This is also our hope, and thanks for having crystallized it in such excellent way (Pedro Bertrán.
