It's Valentine's Day...& No One To Share It With, but ME!

As the stores line their windows, and aisles with Valentine's accessories, I'm afraid I'll have to spend this day alone...will you?
It's that time again when Cupid aims his Bow and Arrow in search for the pair that will spend their most intimate moments together, the only problem is, it's not me. What happened to the good-old-fashioned love that once was called love? Why does it take Valentine's day for people to validate ones love...? Shouldn't love be validated on a daily basis, shouldn't one be able to express how He/She are feeling?
Besides, why do people, or I need someone to tell us we are love; haven't they or I told ourselves that enough, or have we not? When did Cupid get the right to say it loud, with Red Roses and Heart Boxes full of Chocolates of fattening candies that will later consumed us with guilt; and have us feeling anxious to work out, to a sure enough diet we hate and dread?
Why should I spend this day alone, the last time I looked into the mirror, I was destined to turn heads, yet another Valentine's day will come and go, and I will spend it all alone, again with ME!
OK Guys, lets face it, what's wrong with a little tender touch of romantic bliss with romantic overtones. What's wrong with having to share this special day with someone who means the world to you. What's wrong with that? Valentine's day is a day many wait for... and the hope of many minds filled with star-burst ideas of what they shall receive, and how much their love one loves them.
So don't be in awe, if you have to spend it alone, just think about Me, and know that I too will enjoy the flowers I buy myself, and the many Chocolates I will unwrap and eat...just know when it's all said, and done; look into the mirror while your reflection looks back at you, and realized that someone loves you, and it's YOU!

I thoroughly enjoyed this article Loretta.
Above all we must love ourselves regardless of what day it is.
Any of us (including myself) that has been blessed to have a Valentine that we are married to are just that Blessed!
On that day one can count their blessings, however one must count their blessing on any day for that matter.
Indeed, buy yourself that big beautiful bouquet you admire with aromas throughout the house and the loveliest box of godiva's you may want...or whatever special you may want.
Any day is a special day for everyone, and you are right it starts exactly with ourselves.
Therefore, a happy upcoming Valentine's Day to you Loretta.
May it be filled with many blessings with much love in your heart.

Enjoyed this much...your final words especially,
Be Good to Yourself Always...we must love ourselves to be good to ourself...much wisdom within these words!
My mom has been single for a number of years by choice, she has had offers, but not ready for a commitment after years of hurt I suppose. We as her children always do a little something for her on valentine's day, never that she implies that we should, just being good kids I guess, but I always admire something else that she does too, she always treats herself to some kind of special something, be it a day for a facial, a special dinner where she endulges...something and then she spreads the cheer down to her grandchildren...your line reminded me of my mom somehow...I think it is because she does really like herself and happy with her choices in life, and is always looking for a way to be good to herself, by pampering herself, and allowing herself to endulge a little at Valentine's Day...
