Political Hell!
I promised myself I wouldn't write about politics. This time around it makes me sick! All sides. All points of view have become muddied in the dirty water of win at all costs. It is now a river of mud so deep it rivals the mess the hurricanes are making in Florida. God help those people in that state!
What are we doing people? Hasn't it gone far enough?
This hatred being spewed out over who gets to be president is making us a nation of fools. We are undermining the parents in this country who are trying to raise their children with the morals they learned. Lying and cheating are wrong! Yet, the two men running for office, their organizers, and followers are doing nothing but lying and cheating , about each other every day!
I don't care which side started it, or who does it more, or better! Just the fact that we are reduced as a nation to this level of venom in order to elect a president has made me hang my head in total disgust and shame. That a country with such smarts and so advanced in technology, and more wealth than any other, the number one power in the world, has become the worst example for our children and the rest of the world!
SHAME ON US!
WE SHOULD RISE UP AND SAY "WE AREN'T GOING TO TAKE ANYMORE!"

Sadly, what you say is very true, Eileen, but this is nothing new in American politics. It has been going on for decades, and we really don't have much of a two party system even left in this country. The two parties have blended in the middle in an egotistical mish-mash and mad dash for power. But it seems that whichever 'party' wins, nothing much gets accomplished, that truly needs getting accomplished very badly in the good old USA. Just talk, bad-mouthing the other side, and 'Politics as Usual.'
Shame on All of Us, indeed.

I couldn't agree with you more. Cheat to win -- soon makes one as bad as the other. Issues are so confused any more, it's hard to tell who stands for what. We have become so permissive of lies, and exagerations; permissive of inmorality. Eileen, we have been accepting this for years. We hold back from speaking our hearts, and what we really see, because the truth may just be unpopular, yeah! politically incorrect -- so let the emperor think he ain't naked! What a farce. Thanks for posting this; well put across.

| Good point and excellent suggestion at the end. Perhaps both men should be taken out of the race, and new leaders selected by the people. Not easy, but it would teach those in power to behave themselves. |

We would have to end our two party system for lies are part of politics. We have to become an educated electorate and put the heat on the media to expose fact from fiction when these candidates start to spin their lies. There is one party that has a philosophy of win at all costs. When this type of mentality pervades the scene lies are a direct result. Just look at the latest scandal where the media tried to tear down our President with fake documents and lies, this goes beyond anything I have seen in the political scene in all my years. This kind of skullduggery surely has an effect on our children and our nation as a whole. For who are they to look up to. The world of politics has always been a cesspool but in recent years it has crossed the boundaries of
putting our Nation last and the lust for power first. |
