Tampa, Florida: What's a Mother to do? The State steps in- invades your privacy -- your children are frightened -- the mother is caught in a web of do's and don'ts controlled by outside counselors who are irresponsible. What's a mother to do? DCF (Hillsborough County - Department of Children and Families has a twisted agenda -- approximately 50% of their investigations are unsubstantiated (48.42%) and/or intentionally false (.43%). DCF guilty as sin! Floridians are outraged. Lies, cover-ups and mismanagement blamed on everything including the computer software provided to maintain efficiency. Thursday, May 30, 2001, DCF sold dozens of boxes of confidential files, private, personal, psychiatric evaluations, aid patient information, sensitive documents at auction. JULY/AUGUST 2000 Supreme Court Affirms Family Rights The U.S. Supreme Court strongly affirmed family rights last month when it ruled that the state couldn't interfere with a parent's chosen method of child rearing unless the parent had been deemed unfit. Recent federal court rulings establish clearly the right of families to be FREE of unwarranted government intrusion into their daily lives. The rulings further establish that government officials may be held personally liable in a court of law for OVERSTEPPING their authority and trampling the sanctity of the family. The court upheld that in the absence of "exigent circumstances," a government official may NOT enter a home without a search warrant, specifically stating, "Any government official can be held to know that their office does NOT given them an unrestricted right to enter peoples' homes at will," and that families have a "well-established right to privacy from inspections by social workers." Hillsborough County community is in a crisis because of DCF's "testaliars" and incompetent handling of cases and harassment of families. Government caretakers are ill equipped to raise children -- they can't even keep track of their whereabouts --- What Happened to Rilya Wilson? It is extremely disheartening when DCF looses children "wards of the court," "wards of the state," -- after DCF snatches them? How dare they take children away from parents and families on trumped up charges from an angry/abusive spouse -- using children as pawns? DCF abuses their authority and takes advantage of young mothers. Scaring them to death and placing undo stress on an already unstable situation. Children are NOT invisible, they DO understand something is wrong when interrogated by a stranger and police cars abound and they are kidnapped and see the mother's outrage, hurt and fear. What is the world to do with irresponsible, abusive "baby makers" (aka/psuedo- parents), who do battle fighting over unwanted, unsupported and unloved children? What is a mother to do when she does love her children and does choose to take care of them and the State-DCF steps in and shatters her life and scares her children and places threatening demands on her, using her children as collateral -- as the bartering chip -- forcing the mother go to counselors, doctors; demand children be placed in child care at 8 months old? What's a mother to do? One Version of a Hillsborough County Case Scenario: Mary is a fictitious Name, however, I am sure there are several Mary's out there with the same problems and situations. Married at 17 and widowed at 21, Mary is diagnosed bipolar and disabled from clinical depression. While grieving, an older male takes advantage of her state of health and she gets pregnant. Her fault? The man swore he had a vasectomy. When he learns of the pregnancy, he becomes abusive (caught in a lie). The beginning of physical and mental abuse, domestic violence, police involvement, injunctions, kidnapping, and -- last but not least -- DCF to the rescue or NOT !!! They never marry -- she is totally disabled -- paternity is proven and child support is court ordered. This man has a long criminal record for stalking, criminal mischief, battery, burglary, violation of injunctions as well as an alcohol and drug abuser. When he had visitation the child was returned to the mother with evidence of child abuse. Surprised? He persuades her to refinance her truck for $1,000 to set up housekeeping, however, once the check arrives, he takes off and she is left pregnant again. In 2001, Father #1 returns and demands visitation and of course, kidnapping, child abuse, police involvement, etc. In 2000, a new man enters the scenario, she gets pregnant again and he preys on her emotional and mental condition promising family life, apartment, stability, etc. March 2002: DCF to the rescue? Father #2's relative called and asked for visitation? Mary allowed supervised visitation with the father's relative. While the children were visiting a relative, DCF social worker demanded the apartment manager to unlock and enter Mary's apartment. This is invasion of privacy, harassment, and unlawful. After the DCF visit, Mary had a difficult time finding her children. The relative decided to keep them. After 24 hours of pleading, begging, crying, searching and seeking, Mary did find her children and had to physically take them away from the aunt which caused a fight. The relative threw a glass of liquid on Mary -- the police were called, however, they talked Mary out of filing charges. Why? What's a mother to do? DCF advised Mary to go to a psychiatrist, put the children in day care, meet on a scheduled basis with a social worker IF SHE DIDN'T WANT TO LOOSE HER BABIES. What's a mother to do? For months, Mary has been cooperating with DCF. Mary, however, sees no improvement. Mary had to leave her apartment and move in with her grandparents for protection and security for her babies. The 2 1/2 year old has had a few accident reports from the day care. The day care worker has suggested that her 8 month old baby go to therapy because he doesn't feed himself and SHE doesn't have the time at day care to provide that SERVICE. What's a mother to do? She MUST follow the DCF guidelines to keep HER children although, the DCF system is horrendous, unconscionable, unorganized, unreliable, unlawful and is traumatizing the mother, her family and most importantly her babies. What's a mother to do? What can a mother do, entangled in a web of underfunded, understaffed, overworked, overburdened, overwhelmed social workers who falsify records -- that is, if they even write, use the computer system or file REAL reports. Mary has asked to see the reports written about her situation several times. Finally, she was advise that for a fee of about $200 she could obtain a copy of these reports. What's a mother to do? Where is DCF ? I have personally seen the needy, deprived, starving, abused, neglected children in Tampa in the ghetto areas (Martin Luther King and 275); several projects in the Tampa Bay Area. Where is DCF? They are really needed to SAVE children who are starving in a drug infested environment and neglected. Mary loves her children and takes good care of them. She takes her medications and maintains stability. Mary is just exhausted from jumping through the DCF hoops to KEEP her children safe from harm. What's a Mother to Do????? AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is a case senario from the mother's perspective and it is one sided based on her information only. There was no input from the Fathers nor their families. I, personally was also in a similar situation where the police allowed my husband to push open the front door knocking me down so he could enter even though there was an injunction. Police are good and BAD -- men stick together so WOMAN have no alternative but to do the same. Mother's love is precious, priceless and canNOT be replaced. Father's love is precious, priceless and canNOT be replace --- but but but, just who really cares or is concerned about the children and not themselves? THE STORY IS not TRUE?? This is remarkable since others have expressed this similar situation happening to them -- HOW DARE THE STATE & SOCIAL WORKERS CONTINUE THIS FARCE OF PROTECTION? Primary Concern: The Children you be the judge....... ��
