Would He Be Like You?

Beautiful Christians?

Sometimes it pays
to search the heart and ask

What would Jesus Do?

Stick his nose into everyone's business
whether it was wanted there or not?

Throw his weight around
and act holier than thou?

Always try to instigate trouble with others
who might not see things like he did?

Have a BAD attitude
cold enough to freeze sunshine
and rude enough to offend St Job?

Never temper his words with kindness
just blast others like slaves
or inferiors beneath his holiness?

Decide that the whole world must do
everything he said...immediately
or be cast away forever?

Be intrusive and disrespectful to those
simply minding their own business?

Let the things he suffered make him
bitter and unkind and just plain hateful?

What would Jesus do?

Would he act like so many
'Beautiful Christians'
Spoiling for a fight with everyone
they dislike or disagree with?

God is love, and Christ never
forgot his warfare was NOT
with people, but spiritual powers

Jesus was kind and approachable
to the lowest, vilest of sinners

The only people he denouced
and spoke harshly to were hypocites
and religious fanatics

What would Jesus do?
Would he be like you?

'Ye Know Not What Spirit Ye Are Of'

'We war not against flesh and blood'

'The Publicans And Harlots will enter
the kingdom of heaven before you'

Holy Bible*

I believe Jesus might put up a really good fight, for those He were fighting a matter of fact, He has, hasn't He? He fights for us day in and day out.

WOW! Thanks so very much for sharing this very beautiful, and inspiring piece of work. A great write. I read it a second time. "Let the things He suffered make Him bitter and unkind and just plain hateful?" That is a porweful statement. Too often, I turn on the TV and hear, "they did the crime because of bad things that happened to them. If Jesus had let the things He suffered make Him bitter and hateful, what would have become of this world and the people in it? A great and powerful write.

sayit!SAYIT! SAYIT! These beautiful people take ugly to new heights. These are the same people who think God is homeless as evidenced by their building of mega-churches,etc. I am joining your choir. I like Ron talk to God all the time and don't need a building to do it in. PLB&G for courage, caring and sharing this timely piece. <Mikii>

Probably he would have been as enrage as I am by the cruelty of man toward children, animals and the earth in general, patience and forgiveness most have a limit...even for Him.
God help man which continue on his wicked ways with no repentance in sight.

They say, whoever they is, go to church to
worship and thank God. Don't go for the sake
of the beautiful christians, but there are so
many of them. They push their nonsense off on
someone who is really there to seek God's guidance.
This tends to run the new member off.
I talk to God all the time, don't need church.

A BIG AMEN! Precious! When folks have to tell Ya that they are Christians, it makes me wonder, you should be able to see it without them sayin a word! LOVE YOU! Sissy SC

Far too many of these 'beautiful Christians' around these days for me. Probably why I now do my worshiping alone, in the Great Outdoors, not in a church.

Beautiful Christians? is, sadly, an accurate picture of how Christianity is often depicted. It's so true that many people say they are Christians but then live as though they had never encountered a holy God. This is wonderfully written. Blessings to you, Stevie
