A short note to put in a sympathy card.

What to say? How to say it? Many people wrestle with these questions when faced with sending a sympathy card or note. A handwritten note adds an extra touch and shows that you did more than run in the store to purchase a card -- although purchasing a card is also appreciated.

Writing a note requires pulling a message from deep within -- what are you feeling? Translate those feelings into words and there's your note. The message should be from the heart -- taking what's in the writer's heart and depositing it in the receiver's heart.

It is a gift that I would like to share with you. If you are unsure of what to say or you can't find the words to inspire, give hope, and foster courage,
the following note gives comfort and hope:

"You are in my thoughts and prayers. Only the love of God and time can heal a broken heart. Please don't forget that an ear is near -- God's ear. And, if you need me, just call."

In this note, you recognize the sorrow, inspire hope of a time coming when the pain will lessen, and offer help.

Let me know about your successes. When we are true to own feelings, some how they have the ability to inspire.
