Essay / Opinion
Unpublished

Since I am presently also engaged in writing a crime novel, this has led me to more closely view the normal television advertising we are all experiencing.
It seems that every ad must show females at their sexiest, which they undoubtably are, in order to sell whatever product is being hawked. Nothing new in that, as you know. But I don't like being manipulated so I have come to a decision a couple of months ago, which has drastically reduced my monthly spending:
I shall not buy any product which use those female antics that display more than one-half of their lovely bodies - naked!
As I said, my spending is down about 65%, which is great, but I have found it necessary to now plant my own garden to grow those necessary vegetables without seeing them first being fondled by the aforementioned females.
It's working okay but I am now considering having some of my female acquaintances do an appropriate dance around my vegetable garden, even when it's raining. This should achieve the desired purposes of making my potatoes grow larger and my asparagus longer.
This should be worth a try, n'est pas?

| Commercials use sex to sell just about everything. Sometimes it's confusing as to what they are selling. Very good write. I enjoyed the last paragraph. Lol. |

Very funny Charley, thanks for making me laugh out loud. Come to think of it, I think half-naked use of MALE bodies is a highly under-used advertising strategy. Shame.

| Since the message of these commercials is something like, "Buy our product and get this babe", I'm wondering if you have fewer babes in your life with your boycott. ;-) |
