No, it's not Bond's shaken not stirred Martini that stirs the heart. It's someone special that helps us be what we have to be, someone that shows us a dream for ourselves that we didn't think was possible, someone that makes a contribution to attaining that dream, makes the heart fall in love.
I once heard a singer at a concert start off his song with: "
Love isn't hearts and flowers and walking on the beach. Love is helping someone be what they have to be."
Those first lines hit me hard because I had to be a feature film director and remembered everyone that had helped me.
Helping someone with their dreams has more power than two dozen red roses. Giving someone a book that will lead them to their goals has more power than a box of chocolate. Paying for a seminar that will teach your loved one how to move up in life, will do more than an a weekend in Vegas.
However, don't make the mistake of taking on the role of teacher. Don't preach to your loved one like a know it all "Clyde". Quietly give a book, a compliment, a word of guidance, a gold sovereign for luck. And then let them use that energy to find their way on their own, as you lead by example, going after your own dreams.
And then if the chemistry is right, love will be on the horizon.
