For What Reason Did the American Jews Support Obama?
The American Jews supported Obama, as they believed in the Democratic Party tradition. Now everything has changed. They did it to themselves by choosing Obama as president and by believing again that the policy of appeasement can bring salvation to the Middle East and to Israel. They believe that his theory can convince the Arabs and the Muslims to make peace with Israel, while he could not even succeed to have a meeting with Ahmadinejad. Obama said in Cairo that America is not a Christian country. What he is saying may be correct, according to his dream to change America. I believe that Obama does not know either the Jewish or the Middle East history. He may be able to read the Koran, but I don’t believe he can understand the Arab mentality. He keeps saying that he will guarantee Israel’s security, but I don’t think that anyone can guarantee Israel’s security, except for the Israelis themselves. Even Egypt and most of the Sunni countries cannot trust the Hamas or the Hezbollah as they know that these organizations are the surrogates of the Islamic Republic of Iran. I am convinced that the Sunni countries do not trust Iran, Iraq, Syria, the Hezbollah and Hamas. The Sunnis rather trust Israel as a deterrent. They know that Israel has no other choice but to deter Iran from getting the atomic bomb, in the event that the big powers do not succeed in doing so.
Making peace with Abbas is another mistake. Abbas has no power or political base, he is a figure head, and he could not make a decision without asking the Arab league for permission. The only one who has the power is Hamas, and it is supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood and every move has to have their approval. This is why Abbas hardened his position in order to show off and to please the Arab League and Hamas, implying that he is the one who imposes conditions for sitting down with the Israelis. As usual, he will never be able to sign any agreement with the Israelis.
Obama made it also harder for the American Jews to continue to support the Democratic Party. In various Jewish circles in Europe and in the United States, JStreet and JCall (its European version) are considered to be anti-Israeli groups, posing as pro-Israeli groups. The members of these Jewish organizations remind me of the Jewish informers during WWII when they penetrated Jewish circles. The American Jews, after WWII had said “Nie Wieder” Never Again, meaning that Jews should be vigilant and not fall into any regime’s trap. The Obama Policy is dividing not only the American people; it is dividing the American Jews among them and the Israeli Jews. Soon it may divide the Catholic communities among them and from Rome.”Divide et Impera” Divide and reign.
Now is the time for the Americans and the American Jews to let Obama understand that they cannot support him as long as they are unhappy with him. November is approaching and now is the time for all Americans to reconsider their position. As no real peace can be agreed upon without the will of the Israeli people, the Jews living abroad can help the Israelis dissuade those who believe that Obama’s policy is positive and can solve the problems in the Middle East. The Israelis are the ones who should decide their policy, and not the US or the UN, or the Peace Now movement, or JStreet, or any other Jewish organization.
Even during the conquest of Jerusalem by Salah Eddine the latter has never proclaimed Jerusalem as a Muslim city. He only took care of and rebuilt the Omar Mosque which was destroyed by the crusaders. Salah Eddine entrusted the care of the mosque to the Waqf (trust) which until now is respected by the Israelis the same way they are respecting all other religions.
The King of Jordan was smart by signing a peace treaty with Israel and leaving the West Bank without any resolution, so the Arabs can create an additional Arab State on the same territory. In my view, giving land to militant Arabs didn’t bring peace, judging by the experience gained from the return of land to Lebanon and to Gaza. The land that Israel gave to the Arab militants brought only war. Is this what our administration wishes for Israel?
As for Iran I believe that the Ayatollah regime made a huge mistake and knowing well the Iranian people, I feel terribly sorry for them, as they used to be close friends with the Israelis and the Jews in general.
The Ayatollahs try to make us forget what they did to the American Embassy in Teheran and they believe that by combating Israel, they will unite the Arab countries under their rule. That’s another mistake. Without provoking the US and Israel they could build a prosperous Iran. The regime does not want to recognize the value of the Israelis, but the older Iranian generals know very well what they learned through the Iran-Israel cooperation during the previous regime.
Obama did a “great job” by appeasing the Israelis, but knowing my people, I know that, as they swore “Never again”, they mean it.
Obama is a nice guy, very intelligent man, and he has a good family, but if he believes that the American people want to be under his policy, which is the extreme left, I can tell you that he will not succeed, as the American people came here with much hope. From the beginning I said that Obama cannot understand the American people and he wants to turn America into a socialist country, where the government will lead the people, and not the opposite. I am not a young man; I saw what the socialist countries achieved, during my lifetime. Everyone tried it. Thanks to the American way of life, the communist and socialist regimes went down. Many Americans say that Romney should tell us how he can change America for the better. Romney is not Obama, he will not say something he will not perform. Of course Obama always promised “change” but he did not say what kind of change he was aiming for. I am sure that Romney will not steer the country to the left. As to my Jewish brothers, I tell you: “wake up and show your love for America, by moving in the right direction and restoring the American way of life. When I came to the United States I had to sign at the Embassy that I never belonged to a communist or socialist party. All my life I created jobs. Follow those who create jobs.
