Fred Goldman's son was murdered approximately 12 years ago. O. J. Simpson was found not guilty of the double murder; and still maintains his innocence. However, Fred Goldman and his family is positive that O. J. Simpson murdered Ron Goldman. Natually, they want to see Simpson suffer and pay for the crime. Fred Goldman lost a precious son and he wants closure.
When I see Mr. Goldman on TV, on a talk show or the news, I don’t see a man who grieves the death of his slain son; I see a man full of hate and anger and greed.
Hate can roll one up in a ball and just bounce you all over the place; while the one you hate walks tall and goes on with his or her life. Hate never hurt the person you hate. Hate destroys the hater. I believe that could be one reason why God says love your enemy. Because God knows more than we do how hate destroys a person. I’m not saying that Mr. Goldman should love O. J. Simpson or forgive him. Forgiveness is between Mr. Goldman and his conscious. I’m saying he should stop, for a second, take a deep breath, ask himself; “what is my purpose in this fight? Is it truly for the lost of my son? Or is the purpose mainly to destroy O. J. Simpson? If O. J. Simpson is as arrogant as Mr. Goldman says that he is; is Mr. Goldman adding to that arrogance: by helping O. J. Simpson stay in the news and in the eyes of the public?
The man grieving for his son seems to be lost in hate. I no longer see grief. I see hate.
I sympathize with anyone who has ever lost a child. I lost two babies. The pain is unbearable. And, yes, my family knows the pain of having a dear, loved, one murdered. Murdered for no reason. After trying to do as near right in life as they possible could. My beautiful, young, niece and her two brothers were going to be attorneys. Only one made it. My, young, niece was shot through the head. The murderer is still at large, even after, two decades. A year after my niece death; her brothers car was struck by a hit and run driver. One brother later, died. The other one made it to law school. He now practice law. So many mean and unjust things have happened to my family. We get angry and deeply hurt and upset; but after awhile, we let go. We put it aside and get on with our lives. Hate will not right the wrongs. Hate will never change the past. Not ever.
Hate will not bring back Ron Goldman. His life was snatched away from him at such an early age; and so brutally. He deserved more. He, now, doesn’t deserve to be remembered with all this hate and anger.
Hate will only cover up the pain one feels. At some point one needs to try very hard to get rid of the hate and anger, so they can begin the healing process.
The hardest pain in the world is to lose a child. There is no pain to compare it to. Neither hate nor all the money in the world can make the pain go away.
I would like to see Mr. Goldman get together with a ghost writer and write a book about the life of his son. Tell the world what a wonderful young man Ron Goldman was. Write about some of the fun and wonderful times he shared with his wonderful son. Don't just remember that horrible night and forget the wonderful person Ron Goldman was.
Is Mr. Goldman just trying to get what the civil court awarded him or is his goal in life to destroy O. J. Simpson? No amount of money is going to bring back Ron Goldman or change the innocent verdict from the murder trial. Is all this anger toward O. J. Simpson really all about O. J. Simpson? Or could it be Mr. Goldman, also, feels that the legal system let him down?
Mr. Goldman seems to be flip flopping in these days. First, he said the book O. J. wrote should not be read by anyone. Now he has rights to the book and wants as much money as he can get from it. He is not stopping there. He is spending a lot of time out of his life fighting for everything of value O. J. has.
This article is not about whether or not O. J. Simpson did it. It is about not letting hate and anger take over precious life. Hate is like a cancer. It eats away at you. It is a person's worst enemy. Mr. Goldman has made his statement to the world. It is time to move on. It is time for healing.
So many things have happened in my life that I could just hate! Hate! Hate! I prayed a lot! I asked God not to let my life be blinded by hate. I believe that if I spend my life hating, all the people that have caused my family great pain; I feel that I lose.
Mr. Goldman has every right to try to get what the court awarded him. When he goes after O. J. for everthing he's worth; it becomes a life time job for Mr. Goldmen. It becomes a no win situation.
I believe Nicole’s sister is writing a book about battered women. This book I will buy and read. It seems to have a purpose to help other battered women. A beautiful tribute to her sister. I don’t believe the book is out yet. I heard she is working on it.
In this article, I’m simply trying to say “Don’t let hate win” Take back control of your life. Sometimes we use hate and anger to cover up the pain we hold inside. We also need time out to grieve our lost, loved, ones. Then we need to accept the fact that nothing is going to bring them back. not money, nor greed, nor hate, nor anger.
Again I say, my niece was murdered, her brother was involved in a hit and run. His lungs collapsed among other things. He died within a year after the accident, he never fully recovered. Instead of spending so much time hating the people responsible for their death; we remember the wonderful and beautiful people our loved ones were. Pain has ripped through this family. But hate will not win here. We refuse to let hate prevail. Never let hate triumph.
O. J. Simpson is now facing ten felony counts and one misdemeanor count; in connection with an alleged Hotel Armed Robbery in Las Vegas, NV. Mr. Simpson says he was taking back items that were stolen from him. If convicted O. J. Simpson could spend his life in prison. One man, that was allegedly held at gun point when Simpson and others entered the hotel room; suffered a massive heart attack on Monday; a day after the alleged robbery. O. J. Simpson is out of jail on bail and is due to appear back in Las Vegas court next month.
