Las Vegas jury found O. J. Simpson and Clarence Stewart guilty on all 12 counts.

After deliberating for approximately13 hours; the Las Vegas jury found O. J. Simpson and Clarence Stewart guilty on all 12 counts.

The charges included: armed robbery, kidnapping,  conspiracy to commit kidnapping, conspiracy to commit a crime, conspiracy to commit robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery with the use of a deadly weapon, coercion with the use of a deadly weapon, and burglary while in the possession of a deadly weapon.  These are just some of the 12 charges

On September 16, 2007; O. J. Simpson was arrested and booked on armed robbery and kidnapping charges.

Ricco set up a meeting with collectors under false pretense that he had a private collector interested in buying Simpson’s items.

Ricco, then, called O. J. Simpson and told him about his stolen items that were being sold by certain collectors.  Clearly a set up and Mr. Simpson fell for it.

O. J. Simpson told associated press that he did not call the police because they were unresponsive to him.

O. J. Simpson and five other men entered a Las Vegas hotel room to get back items that Mr. Simpson said were stolen from him.  At least two of the men were armed with guns.  Mr. Simpson was unarmed.

Friday, October 3, 2008; A Las vegas jury found O. J. Simpson and Clarence Stewart guilty on all 12 counts.

O. J. Simpson’s other codefendants; Charles Ehrlich, Walter Alexander, Michael McClinton, and Charles Cashmore, also, accused of storming into the hotel room with guns to take memorabilia that belonged to Mr. Simpson; were all allowed to take a plea bargain and pleaded guilty to a much lesser crime of robbery; and in return they testified against Mr. Simpson.

Yale Galanter, O. J. Simpson’s lawyer said that O. J. Simpson will appeal based on jury selection; he said they all had a fixed opinion of Mr. Simpson.  Mr. Galanter expects Mr. Simpson sentence to be on the high-ends.

Well looks like justice was served...this time. It will be interesting to see what his sentence will be...if they let him drive himself to the prison his sentence will be over by the time he gets there. lol

Interesting case. It's somewhat unclear how they managed the kidnapping charge without leaning into double jeopardy on the robbery charge - possible grounds for appeal. O.J. is dirty, always has been. He has many powerful figures in his pocket and he will likely walk away from this the same way Frank Sinatra always did. The rat pack takes care of its own. Everything in Vegas, even the courts, is about showmanship. But, at least they did manage a guilty verdict. That is something. Thanks for sharing this, Mary.
