outbreak free

I am herpes symptom free and proud to be. I even once asked my doctor to do a test to confirm that I had herpes because I certainly didnít think I did anymore. I was actually starting to wonder whether this thing was a figment of my imagination. The doctor said you may be symptom free but this thing just doesnít disappear. Well for me that was healing. That was the point when herpes was no longer an issue. I went on to undertake a natural home birth and I can honestly say that having herpes is not an issue. The issue of having herpes was with the outbreaks and once I managed those the emotional handicap disappeared.

The acyclovir or what ever it was I was prescribed in the beginning was say ineffective. They didnít ease or reduce the frequency of the outbreaks in fact I found that it made them come like clockwork - every two weeks. Maybe it was just me and I was destined to get them every two weeks. But the itching was not helped and they progressed form mild itching to the full blown, ďGod I canít even wear a thong and careful now when you peel the panties offĒ. Sorry. I canít say that the prescription drugs helped.

Quite by accident I was dealing with hearing loss and having taken a dose of steroids and not seeing my hearing improved I decided to try the natural immune boosters. Not only did my hearing did improve but I found I could go months between outbreaks. I still lived in mortal fear of them, well their implications rather. I would be wretched when they came and though the tee tree oil would help with the itching just walking and knowing is Öwalking and knowing. And if a cute guy come up to you on one of those days when youíre walking in the know, well life is so damn unfair. Talk about adding insult to injury. No need to throw it in my face. Fate is just so kind.

Anyway these incidents fuelled my drive to be herpes symptom free. Forever. I hated the outbreaks. Even when they caught me in a relationship with someone who knewÖ I hated them so much that I could not always bring myself to say. I am having an outbreak. Those are hard words and they still are. I can not make peace with herpes outbreaks. I donít think I could ever be comfortable saying, Ďletís not tonight sweetie Iím having an outbreak.í Although I know it would be alright, this wasnít an issue for my partner but for me it was. And not till I could see a way to stop having outbreaks could I make peace with this disease.

I tried the lysine but God how many of those large pills must one swallow before one feels the effect. And at the priceÖ.. And there was the protocol taken with or was it without vitamin C for greater enhancement and I just forgot. I canít really say it worked for me.

I start reading and came across cayenne. As in hot damn hot cayenne pepper. The sort which burn on the way in and burn on the way out. Article said it was very good for my circulation , oh great news for my hearing. And that is true . I could work without my hearing aid because I take cayenne pepper. ďAre you mad? Have you lost your head?Ē Thatís what my boyfriend would say when he would watch me knocking back a table spoon or two a day. Well I wanted to hear that badly. And you know what, the little buggers who live in my nerve ending got quite a shock too. I didnít hear anything from them for a while. And if ever I strayed and had a pizza too many with all those arginine rich grams, well, I reached for my cayenne bottle. Felt a tingle? Well on the food Iíd cayenne sprinkle. It knocked the little buggers for six, gave them a run for their money, and they left my ass alone. No pun intended.

This worked so well I never thought Iíd ever be in need of anything else. Problem was I got pregnant and well I didnít feel comfortable using hot peppers in my pregnancy. Some herbs and spices are contra indicated and I couldnít get a statement on cayenne pepper. But life is well nothing short of miraculous. When one door shuts another opens.

By some divine programming I get my hands on the book. Eat Well For Your Blood Type, by Peter J Adamo. Well just what I need. This diet full of fresh fruit and veges in abundance supported me throughout my pregnancy. I would love to say I didnít have a outbreak then but I did. And it was after having some nems from a Chinese fast food joint. Could have been the oil which it was fried in, not aligned with my blood types and I had eight of them. I never repeated this and sailed through the rest of my pregnancy symptom free. As long as I stuck to the basic rule no glutin, no milk, no cheese I was fine. I learnt not to look at croissants. And bread? People eat bread? Well I didnít unless you meant some lovely glutin free flat bread.

But one can not eat meat fish and nuts forever. After five years on that diet (if ever Peter Adamo wants to write another book he can write one called Eliminating Your Outbreaks by Eating Right For Your Blood Type. Well at least if youíre O, which I was). Truth was I wanted to try going vegetarian and the minute I hit the soy well I spent one week regretting it. And then again and again till I realised that hey soy sends me into tailspin. So no soy. But my lovely home-baked spelt bread? Also herpes inducing. But I want to be a vegetarian. Especially since I am losing all that weight. All that eighty kilos post baby stuff to a lovely sixty five kilos. I have lots more energy the tummy is going down down down. Only problem is the bumps. What to do? When I take out the soy my energy levels drops and my nails break and Iím so snappy. . I put the vegetarianism on hold till I can research soy alternatives. Hemp. As inn hempseed.

Anyway it comes to the point that everything I eat can bring on an outbreak. Vege or not I am outbreaking and I wonder at my body. Not even the old Eat Right for you Blood Type seems to be doing the trick. I reach for the cayenne but not having done that in years I find myself lying on the floor in pain from too much too soon. True the outbreak clears up but really I am a bit too old to be torturing myself like this.

I start to research possible herpes cures again. Not too hopeful but then again who knows. I land on the site I get the book, get the DMSO and it seems to work. Funny enough. I didnít quite believe it would. But the thing is I am having outbreaks. Regular ones. And I donít want that. I donít deal with them very well. Itís not that I feel unclean or anything itís like waking up and finding a nasty pimple right in the middle of your forehead and having to go to work. Somethings just shouldnít be there and Iíd be damned if I was going to let this thing get the better of me.

Well neveranoutbreak wasnít just about DMSO and there was a lot of other things Iíd prefer to be doing with this natural transporter of things into the bloodstream than wasting it on herpes blisters. And besides I had found a oxygen preparation which to me felt far superior than their BOL. Aerobic oxygen. I did a deep cleanse on that, peed my guts out literally. Someone should have warned me how effective that stuff was at freeing the body of toxins. I leaked through my eyes, my nose my pee and at the end without having been on a diet I was quite a few kilos lighter.

This cleanse had a lot to do with ridding myself of outbreaks. Not that the herpes criminals came pouring with all the other stuff but I just cleaning house. Ridding my body of the acid overload. Which brings me back to the theory, (tried and tested) of eliminating herpes outbreaks forever by maintaining the right acid alkaline balance. Itís simpleÖ pathogens love an acid environment. Thatís where they breed and multiply. The herpes virus can not survive or proliferate in an alkaline environment. From the book Never an Outbreak [An acidic body provides a biological terrain conducive for disease to proliferateÖ. Maintaining proper alkaline levels is essential for overall good health as well as preventing all herpes outbreaks.] Well if I understood right this is not only a fight against herpes itís a fight for my health. For longevity . Well well, never did I ever think that herpes would bring me the cure. The fountain of youth. Herpes give me the key to keeping my kids healthy and their immune system strong. Talk about a cloud with a really big silver lining. I was definitely unto something. I launched full attack. This was one war which was well worth fighting.

I did further research. There was a battle to be won. I must say I did go a bit over board and ended up with a Melody ionizer able to filter, ionize and split my tap water into alkaline water which I drunk and acid water which I gave my plants. But I was running with the wind. And what a run it was! Weight dropped from the sixty four kilos where it had been stuck to fifty eight. I could eat everything. And anything. But I favoured those foods which had an alkaline response in my body. Yeah yeah yeah. If ever one needed a good reason not to drink coca cola there it is. It would take ten glasses of water with a ph of 10 to neutralise one glass of cola. So if youíve got herpes first thing to do is to ditch the cola!

For a great list of alkaline forming and acid forming foods visit Taught me a lot. It also taught me why the blood type diet worked before at keeping my outbreaks in check. It did because I got the alkaline/acid balance right.

And today if ever I go overboard and donít eat right and lose the ratio 60% alkaline forming foods to 40% acid I reach for the lemons. They are next to watermelons the most alkaline forming food on earth. The tingles never have a chance and they are my warning signal not that I shall have an outbreak but, that I am moving towards the unhealthy. A blessing in disguise.
