"The purpose of life...is a life of purpose". It sounds so easy, but yet is so easily forgotten in the day to day struggles. We can find our purpose though, and better yet, fulfill it.
“The purpose of life…is a life of purpose” That is the inscription on the beautiful stone figurine my husband gave me for our anniversary yesterday. It sounds so simple, so easy, but those are often the hardest things to apply to our lives.
It is one thing to know your purpose, but quite another to fulfill it. Does life stand in your way, or do you, or better yet, do you use life as your excuse? I can say yes to all three to at least once in my life. The road is hard, so I sit down like some small child and pout saying, “I can’t”. It wasn’t true , but I my backbone collapsed, my faith wilted, and I turned into a puddle on the floor. Sometimes it didn’t take me too long to get up and get going again. Others, it took me much longer, years even.
In the end, it doesn’t matter how long your mud puddle moments last as long as you do get up, as long as you do find your backbone, you use the gifts that God has given you and you fulfill the purpose for you life.
I had really been going through a tough time of late. Had I thrown my life away because of my past mistakes? Had I lived the best part of my life and was I left with only the ashes? Did the consequences of my past prevent me from moving on and doing what God wanted from me? Was I too sick from living too hard to do anything with what was left of my life? Was I wasted air? The answer to it all is a resounding “NO”. God has something beautiful for my life, something incredible for me to do, and what He has purposed for me, NO ONE can stop, except for me. I had to dig deep, find my strength, joy, faith, and His love.
We all have mud puddle moments, but He always loves us, and waits with open arms for us to come back, and usually after a mud puddle moment, we come out stronger than before. For me, the result was a weekly newsletter, and a new way to reach more people than ever before. Praise God, He truly is wonderful! It is proof once again that Muddy leads to Magnificence!
