Take a look at the picture in the article above. These are America's Wild Horses being put to slaughter. That man is pounding the horse over the head with a sledge that will send a "bolt" deep into its skull to kill it.
But will it kill the poor thing quickly enough and is that humane slaughter?
We decide everytime we don't speak out and we let our government "manage" the public lands in favor of industries that want to use them at the expense of its present inhabitant.
Why should industy have more rights to public lands than the public.
How many would actively support this kin of thing?
See below to take action.
This legislation was reinstroduced in Congress as H.R. 503 and S. 311 to end horse slaughter for human consumption and to prevent the animals export for that purpose.
That’s right the government is allowing it, because these wild horses they slaughter are then being sold for meat to places like China, etc. Once again a profit if being made at cost to the animals and in this case the species who once roamed free where now cattlemen want to graze their animals.
Please contact your Representative in U.S. House of Representatives, Washington, D.C. 20515 – urge him or her to co-sponsor H.R. 503

|This just simply makes me sick... We need a Teddy Roosevelt/Abraham Lincoln running for president... where are they who love this land-- its beauty-- its inhabitants in all breeds/races etc... This needs to be stopped right away. Thank you for the info, Michael. Right on top of that... --Charlie|

|We decide everytime we don't speak out, and we let our government "manage" the public lands in favor of industries that want to use them at the expense of its present inhabitant.
Far too many American citizens are truly apathetic today. Our veterans once had to chain themselves to the White House fence to get some help. Some say, we may have to do the very same concerning our 'once public' land. Now, our leaders are letting our wild horses, buffalo, wolves, bears, sea lions, and even birds to be slaughtered, for powerful, cash-bearing, special interest groups and lobbyists.
Even our once revered National Park System is being torn apart, bit by greedy bit, and most us simply don't care.
The last eight years has been the worst environmental leadership in our nation's history, just when we needed the very best.
Thanks for posting this, Michael, and some might also find my recent article about our National Park System quite horrifying - but then again, probably most won't.
