To fully appreciate the UFO/ET phenomenon as it is today, it helps to get some perspective on it by looking at its past. Climbing into our time machine, which we affectionately refer to as the Retro-Rocket, we set the destination indicator to the precise date of "Really Far Back". Okay, not very precise but let's just push the button and see where it takes us. Please fasten your seat belts and keep hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times. Ladies and Gentlemen if you'll look out your port side windows you'll see... well, you'll see a lot of wilderness... but raise your gaze to the heavens and you'll see the planet Venus and any moment now... yes, there it is... can you see the bright object coming from Venus and heading straight for earth? Guess who's coming to dinner? It's none other than Sanat Kumara, otherwise known as the Lord of the Flame, one of the supreme gods in the heirarchy of deities of ancient India, the very spirit of the planet Venus. And with him are his companions, the Four Great Lords. Oh, and those guys following behind? Those are the 100 assistants. Sort of a personal entourage. You know how it is when you're a superstar (no celestial pun intended). They're on their way to earth with a special mission, according to the ancient Brahmin Tables. Their mission? Simply put, to finish what nature alone could not do; to inject into the naturally evolved human form that which we call "mind" or the ability to reflect on our own nature and our place in the universe. In other words, prior to the intervention of these Venusian "gods", we humans were a mindless bunch of bodies roaming around the earth and not really getting anywhere. This scenario from the ancient Brahmin writings is not so different from that which Zecharia Sitchen recounts for us in his series of books (Genesis Revisited, and others) as he interprets the creation story left to us by the ancient Sumerians. Of course the Sumerian tales are peopled by a different set of characters from a different home planet, but the idea is the same. Perhaps neither tale is exactly the truth but rather a story constructed by these ancient mythmakers in an attempt to recount what had been passed down to them from the time before their own time.

According to the Book of Dzyan (which is apparently part of the ancient Vedic literature of India), the landing of Sanat Kumara's "ship" was quite a spectacuar event:

"Then with the mighty roar of swift descent from incalculable heights, surrounded by blazing masses of fire which filled the sky with shooting tongues of flame, the vessel of the Lords of the Flame flashed through the aerial spaces. It halted over the White Island which lay in the Gobi Sea. Green it was, and radiant with the fairest blossoms as Earth offered her fairest and best to welcome her King."

According to writer/researcher, Desmond Leslie, in his book, Flying Saucers Have Landed (1953), Earth, Mars, and Venus were in ideal conjunction for the great vehicle of Sanat Kumara to make the journey from Venus to Earth. Leslie tells us that further on in the second book of the Dzyan series there is a line which may hint of the method of propulsion used by this craft:

"The foundation note ascended. Deep answered unto deep. The fivefold chord awaited response."

This is very ambiguous to us and is taken out of context. Yet it is interesting if it does indeed allude to the concept of sound frequency as part of an energy generating source. Pure speculation but interesting nonetheless.

The arrival of these visitors was further described in the Dzyan stanza:

"The threefold thirty-five (The Sanat Kumara, the Four Lords, with their hundred assistants, one hundred and five in all), finding the distance just, flashed like a sheet of intermittent flame (a Star Trek hyperdrive?), and lo, it was done... The Sacrifice of the Flame arrived and for aeons hath endured. The Watchers (ufologists will be familiar with THAT term!) began their task (human souls now incarnate in physical bodies), and lo, the work proceeds." [Leslie, 1953. The aftermath of this infusion of "mind" into the human form was that the generations of "intelligent" humans which followed this event proceeded to record, in their oral histories, the story of these "gods". According to Leslie, these are the "gods" upon which all other gods throughout human history are based. The Egyptian myths, the American Indian myths, Celtic and Mayan myths, all tell of the gods who came to earth in splendid vehicles. Even the Old Testament of the Bible recounts tales of the flaming chariots and the pillars of fire, that came from the heavens and in which "the Lord" apparently was in control.

So, now let us refasten our seat belts and return to our present time, leaving these Lords of the Flame to do their work some 18 million years in our past when, according to this interpretation of an ancient manuscript, the first UFO landed on our fair planet and started this whole wonderful mystery.
