"...Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for..."

-i think you know this one

Can't anyone see how this "patriotism"(aka paranoia, war-mongering, ETHNOCENTRISM) is an excuse for it being ok to be Anti-Muslim, anti-Middle Eastern. Aren't we Americans the same people who preach (though not always practice) the evils of racism, and acceptance of other religions?
For one thing, anyone who thinks that the "evil force" or "evil power" (thanks for the CRUSADING words, Dubya!) is Islam, apparently isn't aware that those who commit terrorism, and/or do it in the name of Allah, would be taking his name in vain, as no religion is a "violent religion".
And how does the existance of the Al Qaeda, and presence of Saddam justify the bombing of an entire country??? Oh....that's right, because some five year old boy playing in his room, having nothing to do whatsoever over either Al Qaeda or Saddam DOES deserve to die...C'MON!!! I guess one Iraqi defines them all, huh?
And just where is there a connection between Al Qaeda and Iraq, anyone. The only one I see is the letter "Q".
Too many responses consist of "well...I don't want to see war, either, but has to happen..." (Oh, it does, who made you boss?), and "well...they killed our innocent people..."
I have to be careful about this. IN NO WAY, do I/would I/ minimize the events of September 11th, but this "Eye for an Eye" mentality has got to go!
Violence does not solve anything, doesn't not result in anything...
..except blood.
And are innocent people worth what the President gives us that adrenaline rush to feel?
Peace IS Patriotic. War IS Terrorism.

NO! U R NOT Alone!

First, former Air Force Captain here 11 1/2 years. Black ...

Tien Avielle is correct absolutely! But, you must wake up, my friend, being right means nothing and the people with the power don't care what you or I think "individually"!

That my friend, is a fact. Only when we get enough votes and support as a group or nation will they listen. let me go on ... don't you know these people we elect into power (and the VERY rich) can totally destroy you - even if everyone know and you did no wrong! Simple truth. Speaking of truth, didn't the current administration just get caught in a GIANT lie about Iraq and thier military capabilities? Yeah!

Do i think we should support our troops in an "unecessary" war? ABSOLUTELY - ONCE WE COMMIT, NO MATTER HOW WRONG WE ARE BEFORE WE GO TO WAR, ... ((( WE MUST SUPPORT THE TROOPS (U KNOW, THE ONE WHO WILL GET KILLED) ONMCE THEY ARE PUT INTO HARMS WAY BY pure fools)))! Haven't we learned anything by Viet Namn???

*applause* i, an air force veteran and an american, do not support this war...i believe it is a war of revenge...daddy bush didn't "get his man," so junior bush wants to avenge his daddy's failure..."revenge is MINE," saith the LORD"...junior bush ain't God...it scares me...the events of september 11 scared and scarred all of us, but if we attack iraq, we're just opening up ourselves for more, far worse, attacks...PRAY FOR PEACE and thank you for your courage in writing this...*applause,* you have my support...(((HUGS))) and love, karla. :(

You do not stand alone - you stand with all but the GOVERNMENTS of the US, UK, and SPAIN (the majority of the citizens of the world stand with you.) - I just watched 4 hours of the UN Security Council presentation... All but the 3 are in favor of exhausting all peaceful means - What did Mr Powell offer in defense of US policy? We (US) has no proof that the infrastructure to make more weapons no longer exists in Iraq and "We know" they have underground weapons facilities... well, if "WE" know it, why didn't we direct the UN inspection teams there??? These 3 governments stand alone, and will face the wrath of the world when they go against the majority of the world and it's citizens. PS - I am a registered voter in the US.
