I was driving a taxi in Chicago before daylight. It was bitter cold, just before Christmas, and I was in a bad neighborhood on the South side,when an Afro-American woman who looked to be in her 30s flag me down. I stopped the taxi and she got in. I drove her home, where she offered me sex for ten dollars. She told me that she needed the money to buy her children something for Christmas. I gave her a ten dollar bill wished her a merry Christmas and she got out of the car. I drove away proud of myself for helping someone and acting responsible.
Judging form the conversations that I have heard in barbershops and elsewhere, there are plenty of men who would have accepted her offer.
This doesn't mean that I am against sex or even prostitution where it is legal. I am against people having children that they are unable to raise and risking getting sexually transmitted diseases. This requires the use of condoms in most cases where sex occurs outside of marriage.
The preamble to the Cosnstitution Of The United States guarantees our pursuit of happiness, which would include sexual gratification. Therefore, society must not make it very difficult or in some cases almost impossible to obtain this. The only restriction on sex should be laws that protect women and children fron rape and coercion .
Then there are people with special needs. A sad example of this was a seventeen year old girl dying from cancer who's dying wish was to feel the weight of a boy laying on top of her. I hope she got her wish.
