I was very drawn to JP Carinci's newest book, The Psychic Boy Detective, because I and my family have had many metaphysical experiences.

Sean Reilly is an average twelve year old kid - has fun with his pals, is into sports, an overall good guy -

But something is happening to him!

Suddenly he doesn't want to sleep because he is seeing horrible visions of bloodied people and murders and violence. Dead people want to talk to him.

What Dawn, his mother, has never really revealed is she also was gifted with visions when she was a child.

What is so wonderful about this book is the parents are so very supportive of their son.

Although they seek guidance from their wonderful priest, Father John, and a psychiatrist, it soon becomes apparent the kid has a real gift and all the support he gets from everyone, including the police - especially when they start solving cold cases and missing persons cases via Sean's visions. The dead are seeking out sensitive people who can help them get messages to the right people on this side to get help.

Sean becomes an honorary member of the police precinct and it is good to see the support everyone is giving him. That is, until someone tries to kill the family in their home!

Mr. Carinci writes of this subject with sensitivity and his priest in this book, Father John, very much reminded me of my dear friend, a priest who has Crossed Over, but I still consider him my priest, Father Sam. Although I am Greek Orthodox, and not Catholic, our faith is great and sometimes you come across a priest who is more than a priest but a dear friend and supporter. Folks who fully support you even when things seem wacky. Faith is a wonderful thing that comes wrapped in many forms.

Guardian angels, Spirit Guides,  and communications with Spirit are real, and The Psychic Boy Detective has it all in a gently told, sensitively realistic story of a young person's supernatural gift.

I hope Mr. C is planning another book featuring our favorite Psychic Boy Detective - it is a story that has so many possibilities for spiritual growth!
