To hear of a book, or in this case a Kindle book authored by Gina Buonaguro and Janice Kirk, you instantly know this is going to be a wonderful read, and Falling for Rain delights.
You see, I first found out about the duo when I purchased The Sidewalk Artist, which is one of my all time favorite books.
I have read that book more times than I could possibly count and given it as gifts.
Their next book was Ciao Bella, though it was good, didn't have the magical spark of Artist.
And here comes Falling for Rain. Yes it has the pull of the heart The Sidewalk Artist has, but is very different, but a wonderful read.
Also for Kindle prices, it is a downright steal!
Emily comes back to the family farm in rural Ontario to finish items of her father's will. It is a bittersweet homecoming, as her mother died in a farming accident, causing Emily to leave for Toronto and become a successful buisnesswoman.
What Emily doesn't anticipate is her childhood/teen crush Ray Storm, who worked at the family farmhand is still there, working and keeping the animals until decisions are made on the estate.
Ray, or Rain, as Emily called him, was Emily's first love, and who doesn't remember their first love?
To tell more would be a shame, but know it will tug at your heart the same way The Sidewalk Artist will. Ray is not Raphael, but he is a kind, good man, and is in the midst of a tremendous misunderstanding.
You feel for these characters, and you will be satisfied reading it.
Again, I have given The Sidewalk Artist as gifts so many times I have lost track! For those of you who have ebooks or Kindles, gifts of Falling for Rain, and The Sidewalk Artist (also available in hard and softback), and Ciao Bella would all make wonderful holiday gifts.
Another winner for these two talented authors.
