Knowledge Empowers Our Children
& Empowerments Provide Our Children With a Voice
& This Voice Is Protection.....

Cradled Truth

Cradled in discomforts of truth

one child falls…

Thrown as disregard

onto the foundation walls…

Sleeping in silence

from a gash upon her head…

blood stains of warmth

are a comfort instead…

She wakes in a hospital

so cold and all alone…

asking for God to help

in her perils condone…

She then sees her Mother

with tears in her eyes…

Gasping for breath

speaking nothing but lies…

As her lonely child falls

from the cradled truth of violence…

She’s again thrown unprotected

against the walls of silence…

Vickie, What a very sad and tender poem this is. Please read my poem Meet me Under the Willow Tree, this poem is the inspiration of a collection of poetry about child abuse and abuse against women...I am going to title the book with the same name as this poem...
