Help me discover what career I should choose when I separate from Military Service.

Help me brainstorm suitable careers after 20+ years of military service.

Items in

are newly added today.

A. S. General Studies, Vincennes University

Extensive Computer E-Learning including Ninthhouse, Skillsoft, and

Navy E-learnings

Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s Instructor Preparation Course with

Experienced Rider Course

7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Workshop Facilitator

Naval Experience:

Master Training Specialist

Afloat Training Specialist

Command Career Counselor

Surface Ship ASW Specialist

Field Taining Officer

Physical Security Specialist

Law Enforcement Watch Commander

Other Experience:

Motorcycle Skills Instructor since 1997

Here's the format, I will simply mention the career and then some Advantages or Disadvantages of seeking employment in that field.

1. Teacher(Extensive experience in training and education of adults, no real desire to teach kids.)

2. Human Resources Manager(Probably my closest match to my current work history, but I would likely need a Bachelors degree)

3. Motorcycle Skills Instructor(Interested in training only beginners, few companies offer it. Great as a second job, but will not likely pay the bills as a primary source of income)

4. Risk Management Specialist(good understanding but limited formal training, likely would require a Degree)

5. Police Officer (Some experience with military Law enforcement, I learned a lot but really did not desire to continue, perhaps physical requirements may limit me.)

6. Accountant (No experience, some desire, it seems that all businesses need to make and keep track of money so there would beplenty of opportunity with education.)

7. Financial Advisor (Really interested could utilize some of my training and counseling skills, but still need extensive education and I have no experience at this point.)

8. Artist (Not very likely, not particularly talented or educated, but I have an interest.)

9. Equal Opportunity Specialist (Have some experience doing this for a ship and have been trained for the military programs, but I want to deal with EO problems).

10. Realtor (no experience, but I am very interested in owning and selling property)

11. Librarian (no experience, enjoy history and genealogy, probably wouldn't pay the bills?)

12. NROTC or JNROTC Instructor (could allow me some consistency while training for a new job, working my education, and pays okay, my experience is certainly a plus)

14. Consultant (I really think I could offer a lot to companies from as a leadership or risk management consultant, however, I need more alphabet soup to appear credible, sadly being credible doesn't pay as well as appearing credible.)

15. Farmer(I think I could really enjoy farming even for a living. While I am an introvert, I somehow think farmers are typically a bit more isolated than I would be happy with.)

16. Driver (yeah, I would enjoy the mobility, and find a way to enjoy the job, but I have a problem sometimes staying awake while I drive, so I think this career may be a bit risky for me.)

. Singer Songwriter (okay, every one has the dream and most of us like me will never achive it)

The next entry could be yours, Share your thoughts Help me find a good career.
