Well, Wyld Wynd The Rising is off and running. It’s available at three ebook websites right now and should be available at two more within a couple of months. So far sales results are encouraging, showing that the electronic age surely has migrated into this forum. I appreciate the support from those of you who have purchased the ebook. I would also like to thank my publisher at SynergEbooks, who did a great job of editing and encouraging me through this process. You can see their site at www.synergebooks.com.
Wyld Wynd is actually a three part completed work I began writing in 2003. Wyld Wynd The Rising is Part one. Part two should be available by the middle of 2008. The origin of this work began probably fifteen years ago as I had a growing curiosity about our view of our surroundings and the power of the human mind. I often wondered if we were in fact using our mind to its full potential, especially in light of the stories we hear about paranormal and psychic events and the lack of understanding scientists have of them. Whether this is something people believe in or not, I always thought it would make a great backdrop for a story.
So in 2003, with a little break from my busy professional life, I had some time to pursue the storyline. Now, although the novel will appeal to the avid, hardcore science fiction fan, it will also pull in people who tend to steer away from futuristic stories. Wyld Wynd is truly a unique novel in that it has very realistic characters in very realistic situations and tends to focus on many of the simple things in life. Inherently, this includes good doses of humor, which we don’t tend to see in many science fiction books. I have tried to find a simple way to explain this style and best describe it as a “Seinfeld” of literature.
However, the books characters are colorful, adventurous and there are many twists and turns which will leave you wanting to read on. As such, I give the warning now, for many of you will be up late at night, not wanting to put this one down.
I really hope you enjoy reading it, as much as I enjoyed writing it.
